Anybody here using old-school Lenovo X201?

I am facing Intel Speedstep bug.

The processor stucked at 600Mhz when on full load. Running Intel Celeron U3400 with Windows 10 Creators update.

Have to disable Intel Speedstep to get it run at 1Ghz.

Dear all,

I intend to upgrade my Thinkpad T440 to SSD, however, when I visited the shop in Sim Lim Square, they said that Windows 10 cannot do disk/ system cloning, I just like to know if this is true ?

I do not intend to re-install Windows and all other programs and hence disk cloning from my current hard disk to the new SSD is the only way to do.

Does anyone knows that if it is true that Windows 10 cannot do disk cloning ?

lol SLS ppl BS u wan lah...

i cloned from 128gb SSD to 240gb SSD to 1TB HDD then back to 500gb SSD lol...cloned 4 times liao also no issue.

The laptop problem I mentioned in this thread was eventually solved by Lenovo's contracted service centre. Idiot at the service centre tried to save his boss some money when I already visited the service centre with laptop. Ended up their techs made 4 onsite visits. A whole lot of $$$ that saved.

Just a heads up, anytime you see the word "goodwill" or term "as a gesture of goodwill" offered by service centres, whether inhouse or 3rd party, you're NOT getting warranty coverage. They're trying to trick you into an agreement outside of the warranty coverage. If I remember correct, according to IFRS, goodwill is reported differently. Maybe some expert can confirm.

Defining Warranty Goodwill.
Warranty goodwill is the repair or re- placement of a product outside of the formal warranty coverage.

How does this affect the on-site NBD warranty? Most of the laptops provide $0.01 upgrade option from 1-year warranty to 3-year this month.
