The camera does not work well in heat. I had daily issue having the need to reset the dates. And less than 3 months usage. Already showing lines on the screen.

Been using it for close to 9 months. No problem at all.
Think you gotten a defective unit.

My car is OPC, hence I seldom drive during the day with the Yi camera. Whenever I park at night, I disconnect the cam and keep it in the glove compartment so that the sun does not directly heat up the camera.

My online research shows that the camera focus tends to blurry under strong heat, so while I'm working during the day I make sure my Yi camera is not connected in the car while it's parked. Just a preventive measure. However, if this happens while driving, the focus will be back to normal after the camera cools down.

Using the Yi cam for a few months now, absolutely happy for the price. Can't complain at all.

I didn't upgrade any firmware, all is going well. Bought the Space Grey model from someone on Carousell, the one that has the 60fps option to record.

Believe it has only one model. Minie has 60fps option. Think it depend on your type of sd card insert.

Just a bit sian it doesn't have suction based cup instead of stick on. I miss it. Sold it when I changed car as my car came with front/back.
