First time heading to taipei and maybe jiufen

Referring to World Chocolate Wonderland, review very lousy.
You are correct.
If really want good chocolate theme park, then not in Taiwan liao...
Possible to cover this itinerary in half a day (say 1pm to 7pm?)
Can be done like Amazing Race....

Only if you got a car as transport. buses there usually are 30mins per bus interval and travels really slow like 1-2 hours.
Feasible but impractical .

I took public transport ...
excluding waiting time, we already spent 3.5 hours on transport alone ...
if you want to go for a touch and go, each place stay 1 hour max, maybe can do within ur time period ... we took 9am train from xmd, went jiufen shifen jgs , each place stayed about 1 to 1.5 hours ... ended up reaching xmd at 7pm ...

Sorry, I was not clear in my qn. The 1pm-7pm exclude the travel time to Jiufen and back to xmd.
I was thinking of reaching shifen at 1pm. 1pm to 4pm walk around, waterfall and put sky lantern.
4pm depart to Jiufen by car. Reach at about 5pm. 5-7pm walk around jiufen. Maybe dinner there till 8+pm before travel back to xmd.
Dont know if it will be too rush.

i heard of leofoo but...i stay in XMD... the trip to leofoo is like what.. 2 to 3 hours?
I done it with booked driver, if not you need almost a day to cover.
Main question is do you have transport, if yes no problem, if no too rush.
Take taxi about 1hr+

Yes, have booked a mini bus for the family tour.
Rush or not depends on what you guys like to see and do. For us, in jiufen, we walk, stop, eat, chit chat, then walk, stop, eat, chit chat...and continue....
Use your own judgement...

With mini bus, no problem, can even do some more attractions in that area or yehliu or keelung.
My draft itinerary:
11.30am: depart Taipei Central to Shifen
12.30pm: reach Shifen and Lunch
1.30pm: shifen Waterfall
2.30pm: shop and walka round Shifen
3.00pm: Release Sky lantern
4.00pm: depart for Jiufen
5.00pm: reach jiufen and shop and walk around
7.00pm: Dinner at jiufen
8.30pm: depart back to taipei central.
Possible? Should I add Jinguashi inside?
I did the other way round as set by my driver, juifen then shifen. It was raining so we didn't do Jinguashi. Can tell your driver before depart, ask him to go Jinguashi if still have time.
Take note that juifen sky get dark very early, if too dark no point going Jinguashi.
