Bought from them a few times. Good selection, proper delivery. No complaints. Only other competitor that I think comes close is Opentrolley Singapore.

Which currency to use?

Understand that BD is a UK company and there are different options for currency to use. What would be the best option to use in order to save on the currency exchange diff?

The price difference is quite big for some items. For example, Harry Potter box set for the same adult edition is $85+ in BD, but $120+ in kino (after member discount). Really worth getting from BD, if don't mind waiting for 2 weeks.

yeah i bought quite a lot of books from them like some not available in singapore, or some that are cheaper than if you buy here (like guide books). their customer service is good too. i asked them questions before and they're prompt and courteous in their replies.

Bought a few books from BD for the first time. Strange thing is they send the books not as one single parcel, but separately. Those who have bought from BD before, what delivery service to they use? A bit troublesome for me that they send my purchases in a few parcels because I have to ensure someone is at home to receive them.

So far I have been receiving via SingPost -- books arrive in my letter box.

My BD order?

Hello,

I have ordered 2 books from BD.uk and they were dispatched on 2nd and 7th December. How long does it usually take to reach Singapore? Furthermore, I've included my Hall of Residence's address instead of my home address. I recently met with an unfortunate unsuccessful delivery by another merchant.. and I feel like it would be the same case for BD. Do I need to check with Singpost for this?

As mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread, it’s around a 3-week wait. My orders usually only arrive after I’ve forgotten entirely about them :s22:

Some took me less than 2 weeks while a few took me more than 3 weeks but less than a month to get them. If the parcel is small enough to fit into the mailbox, it will be there. Otherwise the postman will bring it up, received twice that way because my books are too big to fit in. Lucky there is always someone at home so no issue with that.

Avoid from now on...

My latest experience from Bookdepository.com .... Not good

I bought a book online for S$37.99 using PayPal. The order went in and all was well. 4 hours later I received an email from PayPal saying the order had been cancelled. NO email from Bookdepository.com but when I went on to the site it said the order was cancelled.

I wrote this email to them ...... personal details blocked out

Customer Details
Name: *****
Email: ****@hotmail.com
Order No.: BDU-837-21966755384
Postcode: ****
Customer Query:
Yesterday I ordered a book (order number) BDU-837-21966755384. The price was in Singapore Dollars $37.99. A couple of hours after I made the order PayPal (NOT YOU) informed me that the order had been cancelled. Can you explain 1) why you cancelled the order, 2) why you did not inform me that the order was cancelled and that I had to find out from a third party and 3) Why the book is still on sale today but (surprise surprise) the price has gone up.
I must have spent over $1,000 in your site in the past year alone - is this the best customer service you can offer?
Tell me how I can order the book and if I do - will the order be mysteriously cancelled again?

After 5 days avoiding me eventually replied with this .....

Hi

I am afraid that we cannot provide any information about our internal security procedures. Please note that, under our terms and conditions, The Book Depository is not obliged to accept any order.

I am so very sorry for any inconvenience this may have cause.

Kind Regards,

Did you read that it was "Internal Security procedures" they blamed? hahaha

The reality is, they think they can make a little bit more money and they screw you. Beware people ....
