Hello fellow HWZers, gonna start a project log here to keep track of my own progress and share/gain tips from forumers here.

It has been almost 5 years with this current rig and i think it is time to retire her

Hoots for now:

Love the new design, stayed away for so long due to the huge white block on past designs. Sadly it does not come with the M.2 Shield when the product page shows it has as their main pic.

Actually I went for the Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 over the Gaming 7 was because I don't see much difference between the 2 motherboards. Upon opening the box, I realized the Gaming 5 did not come with the M.2 Thermal Guard whereas the product page initially showed that there is. Contacted Gigabyte directly and they immediately changed the pictures on the product page but at the same time gave me the M.2 Thermal Guard along with the other goodies. Wasn't really expecting but yeah, Gigabyte is awesome!

Motherboard prep!

Ran into some problems with the M.2 Thermal Guard.
That doesn't look right? Not fully touching the SSD.
