wao, this has blown up of proportion. didnt know it such a big issue

Gamers are generally salty and curse each other, but when developers decides to monetise one of our all time favourite title, we come together united as one voice :)

I'll be gloating when SG PC gamers log onto the game come Friday. Mark my words, the complaints and moaning will be flooding in before the month has ended. :s13:

EA will bring microtransactions back later.

Anyway SEA players always get high ping servers and no proper anti-cheat mechanism. See both BF1 for history.

So still your choice to make the purchase but I know personally I won't step into that pit along with 20+ other players.

It's all a psychological manipulation by EA to distract us all. Never believe Evil Always.

lol. 'temporarily'.

they are aiming for 'whales' to spend on micro transaction and lootboxes. those rich ppl will spend hundred or even thousands for that. but the whales wont be interested if most of the peasant decided not to buy the game thus resulting in reduced player.

so, probably their tactic now is to get everyone buy the game...after few weeks, restore micro transaction, whale spend on it, go in game and show superiority and kill all the peasants.

just assumption i read on reddit :s13:

The last Star Wars-based game I played was Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and its sequel. After that, I simply lost interest in the genre altogether.

Yeah, I have full faith in EA........to squeeze their players in whatever way they can. I cannot believe that so many people on reddit are so easily appeased. Lets see their reactions later when these microtransactions return.

Wall Street is freaking out as EA caves again to social media outrage over its ‘Star Wars’ game
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/17/wal...al-media-outrage-over-its-star-wars-game.html

"None of this is to suggest in-game micro-transactions will lose their place as each publisher’s breadwinner. It does suggest, however, that all interested parties would be wise to not push their luck any further as players start to push back."

Everybody in the gaming industry is watching the #StarWarsBattlefrontII drama unfold. The future is clear: no outrage and memes will matter if they're followed by tens/hundreds of millions earned by EA on in-game purchases. Your wallet has way louder voice than you.

The $79.99 edition of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a pay-to-win bonanza

Lowest ever User Score (personally I never knew you could go below 1.0).
Metacritic has also removed been removing user reviews. Not sure what is up with that.

i think it's pointless.

chances are, people will still buy it. coz there are people who do not look at reviews online. they buy it for EA, DICE or even because it has Star Wars in front and it's a 1st person shooter. the best selling genre.

EA will see strong sales and continue doing it. why? coz that's the target audience and they are willing to pay more. not the vocal minorities.

and it was true. the amount of credits u earned during multiplayer does not take into account how well you performed in a match. (confirmed via friends who gotten the game and are very remorseful, even I did not believe the reports until they told me)

well done EA and Disney. well done. lol

Washington Post: We asked EA for a guarantee to players if "pay to win is removed permanently. They dodged the question. Lucasfilm "supports" EA's temporary decision. :(

The game is notoriously stingy about letting you play with the people you want, and as the characters you most desire. But giving EA your credit card number has never been easier. In that sense, Battlefront II is actually a rather fitting sequel to its immediate predecessor, which was itself a fun, visually phenomenal but woefully shallow and convoluted experience. Everything that was right with the original game is exactly as it was before. Everything that wasn't, however, has mutated into something more craven and significantly uglier.

well I think we know what fans will have to do then.

Aiyah, the gaming industry especially the AAA genre already get destroyed by the whole gambling system liao, resistance ish futile no matter how much backlash from prayers, cause many who supported such system are not real or hardcore prayers in the first place.

Beside moi believe EA ish just temporary retreat nia to siam the current $hit storm. Once the weather ish clear again they will be back with even more aggressive and greedy lootbox system to milk everyone dry dry.

The only thing that may stop this kind of trend ish when society and various govt finally start to step in and regulate the gaming industry as if it's a casino, but seriously this ish bad not for just for those greedy companies but also to us the prayers too. Cause just like censorships, no prayers would want to see more regulations and govt intervention on their games.

Cause if those politicians finally sick of taking bribes from these big prayers and start to treat this as a normal form of gambling as it should be (seriously lootbox and gacha are just another point of gambling, all those bull$hit talk about how it always reward gambler with something or having crazy grinds as alternatives etc so not real gambling ish just praying with word games and loopholes to pray existing regulation and governance, but in the core it really ish a form of gambling), then this will make a lot of games ganna banned and region locked, after all even in AMDK countries when gambling ish concerned it ish even more difficult to release a gambling game than releasing a R18 game. Ie a lot of us here won't have easy access to these lootbox or gacha games liao. :(
