so if i choose netgear orbi as my ideal mesh, i will be missing the above features right as the orbi is just a basic router?

Then concentrate on how to get best on good connection.

Unless there are choices on routers n mesh, then look at the best features.. and pricing.

Priorities accordingly ..

have you asked yourself if you are using the above features? or you're just having the mentality of having those features available but not necessarily to use them?

how many of you uses link aggregation? how many of you roaming assist? how many of you using mu-mimo?

AiProtection is not something that is gonna defend your network against external attacks, its merely something which warns you against malicious websites..

Spouse don't allow trucking and also telephone point too old to convert into data point

The red dot is where my TP is located

I will be pleased with 300 Mbps in my master bedroom but I need realiablity and consistency

So I really wonder should I just change my router, or get extender or just get a mesh.

I used to stayed in similar house layout.
LAN Trunking still the best Reliable solution that .

I fixed the issue with LAN Trunking run shortest route to the Bedrom2 (Next to living hall) , No Drilling ,just use small flat PVC to run along house skirting to go into Room 2 and place another AP there.
Master Bedroom is good enough for Youtube but still no good for heavy video streaming.

Final Solution- Trunk to MBR since I have my TV, Media boxes , Notebook there.

If you want to have Wireless solution.
-All your devices much get updated to have AC Mimo antenna otherwise it is defeating the purpose of high speed network with lousy devices.

Simple Solutions.
-Keep Singtel Router for the living hall use.
-Put 1 Primary Mesh station.
-Room 2, 1 satellite
-Room 3 or MasterBed Room, another Router.

Cheaper solution Alternative.
One Satellite station with Light of Sight at the hall way between MBR and Room -3. (Next to MBR).

Look like 3 satellite system like Linksys Velop suits your need. Prepare to fork out SGD600.

Trunking is out of the questions

Just bought the netgear orbi rbk50 for like $400

Routers is placed at living room and at mbr good enough for 1-2 bar without turning on the satellite

At times when there is no signal at mbr, I will just turn on the satellite which is place in my mbr for full bar wifi connectivity

Never and no regret in getting the netgear orbi especially for like $400 only

glad that you sort out the issue.

Do some performance test to find the optimum location of the 2nd Mesh unit.

As your MBR is pretty far from the first unit..this issue will happen, device connected to your MBR MESH will see strong wifi signal but the transfer speed will not be optimize due to the bottleneck of weak connection between the 2 MESH units.
