Hi all,
I purchased Sony 65X930D last year. The picture quality is quite good with active 3D function. My friend come to my house a few times, also want to buy Sony TV and ask my advice. He want model of 2017 and want 3D function. I check all the model from 8000E to 9300E. All don't have 3D function. why? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Not only Sony, other TV manufacturers already dropped 3d features since 2016.

I myself owned 75 x8500c where I don't enjoy 3d at all,

Firstly most 4K UHD disc doesn't have 3D.
Only SD blu Ray have 3D but usually it is different Blu Ray package.
3D have reached a stage where no one uses.
Not to mention no one buys/rent blue Ray these days.

I do rent 3D blu ray disc but my 3D player just go up lorry so that's the end for my 3D movies. Very little people watch 3D la. Better go for Super UHD TV and Netflix 4k movies. It is latest.

They start at 55" . . the best LED around. And the price has been reduced. Very good value.

no 55", there's 65", 75" and 100". to add on, I think the only reason why this "current" model still has 3D is because it's effectively a 2016 model (suffix is D).

Actually there are 2 camps. Group 1 loves 3D and would like to continue having 3D. Group 2 not really keen on 3D but rather focus on 4k.

Seriously I think many find 3D uncomfortably. Can’t watch long hours, need goggles and require huge screen to have immersive experience.

4k also overrated. U have to compare side by side to see the difference. Currently I tested files ripped at 3-4gb. Already quite fantastic on 65” tv. Doesn’t really need 50gb file
