Hi,

For Starhub Prepaid Card, found the personal mobile hotspot function on iPhone was disabled when using roaming data in other country and need to call 1633 to activate it, anyone know how to enable it?

Tested on Android Phone and it has no problem to enable hotspot.

From StarHub's website:

Is mobile hotspot tethering supported in Happy Roam destinations?
Yes, mobile hotspot tethering is supported. Please ensure that your mobile setting are enabled. iOS users must ensure that your phone supports version 11.0 and above.

For Android users, you can turn on mobile hotspot straightaway.

For iOS users, please follow the below steps to set up before trying to turn on mobile hotspot.
Step 1: Make sure the iPhone is updated to iOS version 11.0 and above
Step 2: Go to Settings> Mobile Data> Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network> Under Pesonal Hotspot, update APN to shppd

Then you can't use the native hotspot functionality since you cannot use iOS 11.

That's what I'm trying to say through the quote.

I have the same issue even in Singapore with iPhone 6(10.3.3), no problem with android phone and Huawei mifi.

I solved the problem by going through the following steps:

1. go to Setting
2. go to Mobile Data
3. go to Mobile Data Options
4. go to Mobile Data Network
5. scroll to the bottom, and then click "Reset Settings"

After going through the above steps, then I can turn on "hotspot"

On StarHub network, can enable hotspot. Oversea roaming networks, not so sure.

I was on Starhub network but was unable to turn on hotspot, it prompt me to call 1633.

Previously, I used another prepaid sim in Kuala Lumpur with no problem but cannot remember whether android or iPhone.
