These are quite lame excuses. Samsung SG should benchmark their software updates with other companies. Pixel 2 XL brought in by Singtel has to go thru all the same requirements but look how far ahead their software updates. Perhaps Samsung SG should rethink their strategy in handling these updates and benchmark themselves against other brands and see how far behind they are. Competitions are growing quickly and all these factors affect how consumers view the company as a whole.

We all still buying their phone mah.. If everyone stop buying then they will upgrade their software update cycle

Well. We can only share you all these reasons and explain it to the best we can ask told by Samsung SG themselves to the Samsung Connections group. You can choose to accept it or not. Either way this is the process for a Long time already. Agreed but then again it is not like we have a choice. It better than releasing broken FW out there.

Security updates really as dangerous as it sounds, as Long as you don’t expose your device to apps downloaded from outside the Google Play Store or use Public Wifi for sensitive matter you have won half the fight.

yes yes appreciate all the sharings here.
Everyone uses their devices differently, when a security patch is available, Samsung should release it asap.

Odin flashed no need root or wont be root. Just remember to use home csc to retain current csc setting which is xsp or your carrier csc

Hi, how you maintain current csc? *#272*imei phone#?

or you extract it out from older firmware?

You have to download the firmware and flash home_csc file.

Just a major caveat here, once you flash a foreign firmware and you accidentally forget to preserve home csc, your csc will immediately change to the one which the foreign firmware supports and you will lose local nfc and Samsung pay support, also vowifi and volte.

The only way to revert is to go service centre..

my battery has aged badly, currently with only 85% of original capacity, do you think I can ask for a replacement under warranty ?

Oreo beta overseas is ending on 17th of January. Does this mean we'll see Oreo soon?
