Left Kinokuniya, but not before seeing the prettiest girl on the trip thus far there. A pretty girl who reads? SOLD! Sadly, I didn't wanna kajiao her, so that's the end of what could have been the next great romantic classic.
Next thing I wanna get to was another one of Sapporo's well-known food, zangi! Zangi is quite popular in Sapporo, and quite different from the usual karaage. I've spotted a few nice shops selling zangi, but decided to wait for the end-of-day sales.
Almost couldn't get any. I forgot who mentioned it, but earlier on someone suggested heading to the supermarket at around 2030 for their clearance sale. My advice is to go earlier. I was super disappointed when I reached Daimaru at about 2007, only to be turned away by the security guard saying it's closed. WHAT?!
Frantically searched for a place that sells zangi, and luckily ESTA was still open.
Chiong ah! So many people and a lot of good bargains were quickly snapped up.
Even crabs also got discount!
Fried chicken leg! Looks so good, but I want my zangi!
Finally found my zangi! Not the original shop I wanted to buy from, but will do!
Super tender and moist, despite being on the shelves for a while. Zangi is already seasoned, and it tastes slightly salty. Perhaps there's soy sauce?
