whats a good place to shop for the transformer?

if dont wanna use transformers, what is a good model to go for?

SLT,

Samsung, LG. $499
Oppo is near $1k
If not Xbox One X $699.

However using Xbox issue is only the crumble some interface.

SG is limited with 4K UHD Player choices, Panasonic and Sony
are not bringing in their player.

First understand the power rating for X800 which is 15 watts.
Next use this calculator to understand the right step down
transformer wattage.

In the case of 15 watts, so you be looking at 100 watts.
Hope this helps.

Which one to buy

Howdy all,

I cannot make decision on which one to get and hope members here can give me some advise. I am currently looking at 2 local players.

1. XBOX ONE X @ 699 (Can get cheaper elsewhere)

2. SAMSUNG UBDM9500 @ 599 (2nd generation player)

I do gaming but on PC. Most of the games available both on XBOX and PC. But XBOX ONE can do 4k & HDR but not on PC.

I believe a dedicated player will do better picture and sound quality than a gaming console cum player.

But the price different is not much. This is where I cannot make up my mind. Both are good hardware.

Thanks!

One more local 4K UHD player LG $599

https://www.whathifi.com/lg/up970/review

Issue with Xbox X as an 4K UHD player is the chucky interface.
You have to wait for the console to startup, load the disc
before you can watch.

As for dedicated UHD Blu ray, the startup is fast so you can load
the disc straight away and of cuz the interface is much simpler than Xbox.
However if you only got to choose one than get the Xbox X since
you are gaming and watching movie.

Unless you are just solely watching movie than get a dedicated UHD player.
Price for Xbox One X is $699 as it is rather new but you can look around in game shop check their prices.

Hope this helps.

Wow! Super lucky! I nearly chose the 60W transformer. Lucky the Sim Lim tower uncle told me bluray should use 120W. Phew!!!

I am using a 30W travel version which fits nicely between my wall plug and the power cable. No issues at all.

Looking at getting the Oppo 205 but it doesn't appear to be readily available ?

Are there any stores in SGP that carry or do I need to order from overseas (is that safe ? expensive ?)

Thanks

Oppo can be really expensive for local sets.
Can check with Adelphi.
The main issue with players from overseas is the voltage.

If US is 120V than you need a stepdown transformer.

Why my samsung 4k blu ray player cannot read certain region disc player?

Where did you buy from?
Local or online?
Local sets usually is region A only.

Region B and C is cannot but some blu ray disc
have all region so shouldn't be any issues.
Unless you are talking about DVD than DVD region
is different from blu ray.

DVD is strictly NTSC 3 for local, US is NTSC and etc.
I know some buy blu ray player but play DVD.

Hi anyone can advise me which is a reasonable 4K blu ray player set to pair with my Samsung mu7000 and K950 soundbar?
Is $200 enough to get 1 in SG or better off to get 1 from Amazon? Totally no idea on what spec to get for the player. Thanks..
