Some drivers like to tailgate you even when you are driving at max speed limit. :s8:

Change lane to the left and give way?

Yes, agree. Lane 1 is for overtaking vehicles even though you are travelling at Max Speed Limit.

Nowadays, there are many drivers who do not give way and thinking they are correct to do so as they are travelling within or at Max Speed Limit but do note that Road Hogging is an offence too.

If you are driving a suv or mpv, try to also tailgate the car in front of you.
Once the rear car is close enough, you suddenly change lane.

Road hogging is an offence. Move to the left and let faster cars overtake.

Lan 1 is never defined;designed as a over taking lane. But just fast lane (ie is other lane is not occupied, you should not use lane 1 thats all!).
When you need to overtake, always overtake from right side of driver. This happen to be lane 1.
If traffic jammed, all lane can be used anyway.

There is. Please refer to LTA traffic rule. Otherwise one can always over speed limit as he is forever overtaking other car(s).

Why even drive on the fastest lane? Will something happen to you if you moved one lane to the left?

Get the **** out of the first lane? I had to honk at a stupid idiot who was driving at 68km/h on the first lane today. There were 4 cars behind that idiot and no one bothered to use their high beams or horn.

Just give way. But sometimes the drivers behind (although very seldom) can be quite an ass. Come up quickly flash flash flash horn horn before you know it. Damn annoying.

Perhaps I should rephrase it to etiquette and not max speed limit.

No matter how fast you are at lane 1, as long as the car behind is faster, you give way.
