Positive outlook for global economy for next couple of years; Asia to

Normalising monetary policies; gradually rising short-term interest rates
will benefit commercial banks like UOB

also DBS results last week,

Fourth-quarter earnings up 33% on year to a quarterly high of $1.22 billion
Full-year ordinary dividend increases 55% to 93 cents, special dividend of 50 cents, scrip dividend suspended

UOB? because people only care about dividends and UOB increased dividends from last year 70c to this year $1(inclusive of 20c special)
Inclusive of the special dividend, this represents a 49% payout ratio.

OCBC only increase 1c from last year 36c to this year 37c. Dividends payout ratio drop to 37% from last year high of 43%.
Not sure why OCBC is keeping more earnings.

Still can't beat DBS who wants to pay $1.20 per annum in the future which amounts to 4.5% yield.

I will buy more of all 3 banks if there is a decent pullback.

Yup, but need to calculate it's payout ratio. Not found in presentation.

OCBC results seems to be the best of the 3, net profits up 19% yoy compare to the other 2 single digit.

Because it is in the future. We need to know what is the future net profit to know the future payout ratio. It could be a hint that net profits will rise gao gao in the future?
