Should I do a Master's if I am very unlikely to be promoted?

I am thinking of doing a Master's but at my current workplace, I am very unlikely to be promoted.

I am in a dead-end job and I'm thinking of doing a Master's in my field but I am also afraid that I would become overqualified.

Studying post-grad is more likely to be a long term investment - if you're looking for a quick promotion, easier to change job.

Masters is just a entry passport to better prospects, but it does not guarantee anything. You still need to build up your portfolio of knowledge and experience to rank up

You should change to a job where u can get promoted and you feel have purpose.

Doing postgraduate studies should be for the sake of expanding your horizons as well as deepen your knowledge.

Most jobs would list a Bachelors degree as a requirement. Some specialist jobs do require a Masters or PhD degree. Unless you find good purpose and meaning in furthering your studies, don't do it for the sake of paper chase; This way you will better appreciate the experience.
