So if I'm on v1.09SHC. I will need to upgrade to v1.10SHC first and v1.21SHC later? Cannot flash v1.21SHC directly rite?

And also need to do a factory reset so I have to redo the settings again rite?

Well for consumer series deployed at home, KRACK can never be a threat unless you’re telling me someone is so eng to loiter outside your house and crack you. Lol..

I won’t mention brands but it’s obvious some brands have not fully covered all their devices because their family line is too Long..

Got companies as bad or worst then d-link? I pitty the users.

It's mostly for peace of mind and for their reputation. Wouldn't feel too safe knowing your own router has a known security vulnerabilitiy. Also having a unpached security issue will not be good for the company's reputation and potentially their sales.

Same thing can be said for 802.11w support. A relative of mine can't figure out why his shop CCTV keeps disconnecting during certain times of the day. Asked him to enable 802.11w protected management frames and problem went away.

Download and do read the instruction in the pdf regarding on this updating.

It is stated clearly to follow the procedure to update step by step.

What year is this:spin:
The standard DIR-868L version doesn't even get a Krack fix cos D-Link says AP mode is not affected.
This is the custom Starhub version which has a client mode (repeater mode), that's why it needs the Krack fix.

Btw it is up to you to update or not.

Not necessary to do it now, but later at your free time.

Apparently I saw the instructions PDF wrongly.

The firmware only resets to factory defaults if the previous firmware is 1.03SHC or earlier.

So far I'm doing ok after upgrading from 1.09SHC to 1.10SHC and followed by 1.21SHC without resetting to factory defaults.

If got any problem then will reset to factory defaults.

Have no problems updating three 868L to 1.21SHC, no requirement to reset to factory, all working fine. In fact I didn't even bother upgrade via LAN, simply did the 2 step firmware upgrade over WiFi for all three devices kekeke.

Quite satisfied that Dlink continues to patch the 868L (even the older 865L!!!). Unlike some other brands.
