From The shoe snob article

2. Wax polish works in the same way (as above). New wax polish will be very moist and because of that will simply swish around the top of the leather and not ‘set’ into the pores to thus dry and create a ‘flat’ surface so that you can build the layers. The older the wax (and thus the more ‘sticky’) the more easily the wax will stick to the leather and set into the pores. One trick is to leave a new tin in the freezer overnight which should harden it up a bit and make it stick better.

Sizing Guide

And to further add to the confusion, I just recently measured myself on the Brannock device and voila, I am a size 8.5US EE.

By the way, these are my sizings, if they are of any help to the folks in the forum:

Carmina Rain: 8.5UK
Carmina Inca: 8.5UK
AS 724 last : 8.5UK
Edetal : 43
Birkenstock(!) : 41

i size up by half for simpson on most occasions apart from loafers. Sometimes i feel i might get away taking my "true size" (Which is typically 8.5) for simpson suedes. But i repeatedly chicken out at the last minute.
Rain 8.5 fits me pretty good.
As a comparison,
Simpson 9
Rain 8.5
Inca 8.5
Uetam (loafer last almost exclusively) 8.5
Forest 8.5
Oscar - I'm not going to try again. Omg

Enjoy and post photos of your new shoes!
Half size up from your rain last should be fine. AM are generally half size up from TTS

Thank you bro, will definitely share if I decided to bite the bullet and go for my first pair of AM!

By the way, just curious, how will the sizing for Corno Blu be for the Lyra? If taking same size as Carmina Rain UK7.5.

Sorry posting a reply to your last qn here as thread now closed. The fit on the double monk was great after sizing up by half.

I wish I could post pictures but somehow this thread prevents me from doing so because I haven’t generated enough “post count”..

Yes Lyra is true to size so take the same size as Rain. That is the most comfortable pair I have.

No worries about that bro. Appreciate your reply still. I see, that sounds great. Is the soft square last quite generous or roomy at the front? As images of the shoes from most angle somehow looks "bigger" or wider compared to other soft-chiseled last.

I see, that's great to hear. Thanks for the sharing. Shall consider if able to find someone whom would like to get the AM Black Captoe Oxford with me. Otherwise maybe just take the AM Double Monkstrap.

The Aries oxford is heavily discounted already so cannot use as the “first” pair :)

Tried that else would have did an impulse buy

I tried that though, and it works. The Aeries oxford is entitled to 50% off the Corno Blu as well.

I wouldn’t call it any wider or roomier unless you’re comparing to the AM Chisel 2 or Hawksbill last. I think there’s some good sizing info online if you want more details but the rule of thumb is take a half size bigger than Carmina Rain.

I see, noted on that. Yup, I went to check up AM's website as well and on Style Forum. Most recommended to size up by half too. Nonetheless, thank you for your kind advice and help, appreciate it! Cheers bro
