100mbps = MB or Mb? Your PC is on GbE or FE? Your NAS is on GbE?

If you are getting 100MB/s, you are already achieving your top throughput from your PC.

That's why i say you won't need 2 ports. You don't even know what you need to do to make use of the 2ports.

I don't use quick connect. I use DDNS(router), port forward(router) and sftp (nas) to do transfers externally

Hi Bro,
below are the screenshot from home PC.

Same transfer but speed inconsistent, using Synology Assistant login and map NAS to PC.

Same file, just rename the folder.
Using Synology Assistant login thru Quick connect web method.
The speed super slow...

Out of home I can't Map the drive right?
If using quick connect method, upload/download super slow.
Anyways to make the transfer speed faster when accessing out of home?

Hi All,

I have been getting emails lately from my Synology NAS that of connection request that the IP address has been blocked by DSM after failing the attempts to login.

Based on the logs, the IP address is trying to use admin to login which I have already disabled from the start when I setup my NAS 1 year ago and my configuration of blocking of IP address is upon 2 failed attempts within 1 minute.

IP Addresses logged over 2 days which are blocked: 180.170.198.206, 180.170.196.202, 116.227.215.197, 114.86.9.243, 101.93.176.68, 101.228.124.27

Is there anything which I have to worry about or take extra precaution / configuration? Appreciate the kind advise.

Thank you

I have already told you above so is pointless repeating the same question when it has already been answered.

Quick connect probably has to go through Synology backend to reach u. I don't know how it works. Never use it before. You used the method i show you could get better yield.

Don't use the default ports.

If you want even more "secure" use only whitelist

If you want even more, use VPN.

All can crack, just tougher.

Is your quickconnect or DDNS in use?
I encountered multiple fail SSH login from external ip address even though i disable SSH and Telnet.
i suspect quickconnect or synology's DDNS might be the source of the auto block activation. (naming convention too simple)

I also received multiple attempts to log in my NAS:

Dear user,

The IP address [180.170.196.202] experienced 10 failed attempts when attempting to log into DSM running on MYNAS-SYNO within 5 minutes, and was blocked at Sun May 6 12:09:17 2018.

Sincerely,
Synology DiskStation

Very annoying...

Not possible for white list as when I’m out, would not know my mobile network ip

However, VPN sounds good and is this referring to VPN server setup on my router?

I have both in use as usually using quick connect via the Synology apps

Hi guys! My NAS just got back from RMA. What are the steps needed to reconfigure my raid? Do I just plug in all my 5 HDDs and it will reconfigure on its own? Or is there a certain settings that I need to run?
