Slim laptop with discrete GPU good enough for gaming?

Hi,

Looking for a laptop for my child who occasionally play Skyrim. Are those new slim laptop with GPU like GT 1050 good enough form play the game? Model like Asus Zenbook? Do I really need to get those gaming laptops in order to Skyrim?

Skyrim is an old game. If he is into that open world genre then he would want to play the witcher 3 and AC origins too. In which case he should get something with at least a gtx 1060

i was installed a game in my laptop but game was not working because of hardware is not compatible .

Acer Swift 3: 1.7kg: 25W MX150.

These 2 are the light laptop, otherwise you can just go for GTX 1050 laptops

Good luck playing Skyrim or any of the heavy AAA titles on a lightweight MX150 ULTRABOOK gpu.

He mentioned skyrim/heavy games, thats beyond anything ultrabooks can handle
