Xiaomi Mi 8 leaked hands-on video shows awesome back and notched display

After rumors began flowing about Xiaomi's 8th anniversary flagship phone, the company itself took to Twitter to confirm that the Xiaomi Mi 8 is coming Thursday, May 31st. And yes, if you're keeping count, the company has decided to skip the seven and jump to eight, because it is its eighth anniversary.

Mi7 will be releasing together as well.

then will be like apple 8 and X launch together :s13:

eh bro, but all the articles say mi7 become mi8.

"the leap from Mi 6 to Mi 8 is to celebrate the 8th anniversary"
"there will not be a Mi7, with the company instead announcing a Mi8 to celebrate its eight-year anniversary"

Xiaomi posted this picture earlier on their Weibo handle..

Xiaomi explained that by calling the upcoming phone as the Mi 8, it's because the Mi 8 is beyond expectations. If you read the "beyond expectation" part in Chinese, “超越期待”, it also means “超越7代”(beyond the 7th generation aka. Mi 7).

This means there will be no Mi 7. :o

Good phone not put to good use in SG

Still thinking should I stick with Xiaomi phone

Sadly my MI 5s...
Does not support Singtel Clearvoice (VoLTE)
Does not support Dash Visa
Does not support NFC Sim

I wonder will all these be included

Singtel Clearvoice usually only support selected phone models, usually are models that they sell with their mobile plans.

Just saw this post, my mi 5s plus has Singtel ClearVoice after entering *#*#86583#*#* in the dialer (xiaomi only enabled VoLTE in certain countries only). Use this to disable the country / carrier check. You should now see the enable VoLTE switch under the mobile network settings :s12:

The other rumored features of the Xiaomi Mi 8 include 6.01-inch OLED display, under-display fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 845, 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB/ 128 GB of storage, AI camera enabled with 2x optical zoom, Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10, and wireless charging support. The rumor mill has already revealed the speculated pricing of the phone. The 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM edition of the Xiaomi Mi 8 is rumored to cost 2,799 Yuan (~$438). The higher model having 128 GB storage + 8 GB RAM is likely to carry a pricing of 3,199 Yuan (~$500). Another report claims that the base model may cost 2,999 Yuan (~$469).

The huge number 7 on the poster denotes that there are only 7 days remaining for the forthcoming annual product launch event. The May 31 event will also mark the arrival of MIUI 10. The company is also expected to announce the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker at the same platform.

oh well,.
