hey just to check.. sg app store removed sinology DS get app? I realized existing ones log in also cannot use
I also why they removed it. Didn’t noticed that till you mentioned. That’s in April. I doubt it’s related to sg’s illegal torrent site clamp down.

My existing app is working still though

my existing app can still use .. but if u try to search something .. it gives you 0 results

If your current search database do those that are being banned like pirate bay etc of cos 0 results. Cos it’s parsing thru those banned sites still

Add new torrent site list to your download station at DSM.

Search for download station dlm

Take a look at Cybermind pricelist. They are selling for 4 varieties of DS218.

The J series are budget models. the Play series have higher specs and so is the + series.

yea the 512mb RAM is of a concern, but then again i am only looking at it for the DLNA function and just simple storage only. sufficient you think?

is it overkill to use NAS as purely a storage drive?
I still got my 2x HGST drives not set-up in my Synology lol
(the WD Red issue still not resolved right?)

.
The advantages of a NAS over external HDD are:
Easy access within home network as well as externally from desktop/laptop/mobile devices
Redunducy, data is not lost in event of one drive failure

You set up a shared drive space on the NAS and you can access it as a network drive from any PC with Windows explorer.
