Hi all, I got a quote for the Lenovo Thinkpad T480 with the below mentioned specs.=:p

Intel Core i5-8250U Processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.40 GHz)

Windows 10 Home 64

14.0" FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS,Anti-Glare,250nit

16GB(8+8) DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM

NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GDDR5 2G

256GB Solid State Drive, SATA3 OPAL2.0 - Capable

3 Cell Li-Ion 24Wh Front + ThinkPad Battery 6 cell Li-Ion (72Wh) Cylindrical Rear

3Y On-site NBD upgrade from 1Y Depot/CCI to your system

Price quoted was $1770.

Can anyone tell me if this is worth it? Looking to get a durable laptop to chiong in Uni.

Will it be cheaper if I add on my own ram to the laptop instead of buying directly from Lenovo?

I read online that its very difficult to add on additional SSD to the T480, hence would it be wise to opt for the 512GB PCIE. SSD?

Thanks in advance :s12::s12::s12:

You currently in Poly?

It is not advisable to future proof your laptop till that length.

Laptop these day is not so durable as compared to the past.

Google online for this model to see how difficult it is to change to your own SSD. I suspect if you upgrade to a 500/512GB SSD, its gonna cost you significantly more.

So you think the price for the thinkpad is worth it? Saw online that upgrading the SSD for the T480 is a massive headache...

How is it a massive headache? Everything is accessible once u take off the backplate, isn't it?
