Hi guys

its me again, basically the contractor is very nice he came down and replace a few parts but he did not charge me as it did not solve the problem. He even get mitsubishi down and change according to what mitsubishi had advised. Now 2 aircons are working but not as cold, and 1 aircon is not working. basically mitsubishi have advised that the electronic valve is faulty. Before that, the contractor had already changed the thermistor pcb and electronic valve already.

I think last resort is to change the whole condensor and compressor, can i know what is the usual price to change the condensor and compressor? my whole family is really damn fed up with the aircon under this hot weather. Appreciate if anyone have had such experience.

My unit is almost 4 years old. wondering if it is common for mitsubishi starmex aircon?

Thank you!

Hey guys sorry for no reply. I engaged another company. Initially they said thermistor and electronic valve spoil. Replace alr still not working. Then say pcb spoil. Replace pcb also not working. Now lagi jialat. All 3 units are not cold now. The contractor is saying they will check with mitsubhishi. My aircon are only installed since 2014. I am seriously considering going to CASE now for this issue. Anyone have had similar kind of experience. I would deeply appreciate if you can advise on how should i proceed with this situation. Thank you!

The model number can be found on a label either below the unit or on the right side of the unit. For Fujitsu it usually starts with letter A (Eg ASAG09LJ). Regrettably it is difficult for me to give a range as the difference can be substantial between the models.

Hi. The model number is fujitsu asag09ljca. Do you know if how much does it cost for pcb?

Just wanna check some prices.

I was charged S$160 for chemical wash for 1 unit. And S$120 for gas topup.

Are the prices within the expected range? Never done any chemical wash or gas topup before.

Edit: They actually did dismantling and chemical cleaning for 2 units.

any contacts for a good, reliable technician?
is 120/unit for chemical overhaul reasonable, or are there better offers out there?

Hi all,

I have been reading this thread for a while. Generally got the idea that chemical wash may not be absolutely needed if the aircon is still cooling. For my case, My aircon has been 6 years, but i hardly use it. Until the recent last 1 year, i use use it on weekends for about 10 hours each day (Sat and Sun only).

My aircon is generally still cooling, but i have no sense of whether it takes longer to cool the room a not (upon switching on), my it feels normal to me.
Given the long duration of 5 years that ii hardly use it, do i need a Chemical wash?

As your usage is rather low, do consider general servicing and have your appointed contractor assess the condition of your units. They should be able to make appropriate recommendations based on their experience after the assessment.

My take is that unless your aircon is emitting an odor, severely clogged or cooling efficiency is greatly reduced, chances of it requiring chemical procedures is unlikely. Chemical procedures should only be done if general cleaning is unable to thoroughly clean the unit.

Ok, JK Aircon specialist came down to install my aircon on Tuesday. Before they come, they gave me a call stating they were on their way. They arrived at their scheduled time of 10:30am.

After some inspection on our existing aircon, they told us what they need to do, including the work that has to be done. They had to bore bigger holes as the existing installation and insulation were way smaller than the Armaflex ones they were installing. They took around 3 hours to finish the installation, 2 people handled the removal of our existing units.

After the installation were done they gave us a quick brief on the work done, and cleaned up all the rubble. They made the installation look so easy lol. Overall I'm quite satisfied with their worksmanship.

3 weeks ago my in-laws home A/C have encountered 2 leaking FCUs, engaged AIRPLE services to do chemical overhaul for all 3 FCUs, their service charges are the lowest when compared and does the job as expected, now it's freezingly cold even at 24 degC and mid power blowing speed. Thumbs up!

serviced today

I just had my air-con serviced today by Jin (93580608)
Local Singaporean who is good and Honest. I highly recommend.
30 dollars per unit, disassembled all three of my units and thoroughly clean. Very good.

Having come across this thread and other readings online, I'd say that 95% of aircon service providers out there are just providing a con job.

Providing random diagnosis and abusing their expertise to either sell costlier services or do bochup work that will eventually lead to bigger problems. It's like me telling an uncle to buy RAM or change thermal paste to speed up his laptop when the proper solution would be to upgrade his HDD to SSD.

These on top of the fact that all aircon brands have some sort of planned obsolescence built into the design of their products in order to reduce MTBF (relative to aircons of the 90s) and sell more units.

I'm engaging one of the (hopefully) trusted servicers shared here to get 2nd opinion having smelt BS from my own service contractor.

Actually all aircon company are OK one.. just ensure during servicing they wash the water tray and the black colour roller aka blower during general service.. take note not all types of aircon blower can be dismantle.. here are the aircon brands that able to dismantle : Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic and Toshiba

I used SgOzoneAircon.com . They helped me solved one of my aircon sometimes cold, sometimes not cold issue by chemical wash. They have a cheaper chemical wash which makes it not expensive for me.

Now all my aircon servicing all done by them. Worth to try them. :s12:

Does anyone used a ducted aircon unit?

I have one for my hall and there's some condensation and water leakage in the toilet where the unit lies above. I asked the aircon servicing company to come take a look and they tried their best to suck out quite a large amount of water inside the unit. They claimed there was dust and algae causing it to be choked? anyone came across something similar?
