lol, they got 2 players we are linked with all in the final day.

I think it's obvious the board is no longer backing JM after his failure to win any trophies last season. His ranting during the pre season saying negative things about our players, youngsters and even fans does not help matters either.

Guess the board members must have drawn the line somewhere and see how he'll fare with the players HE BROUGHT IN and whip them into title winning contenders instead of whining even further that they are not good enough. If he can't work with setbacks and can only do it if everything is perfect to his whims and ways, then he's not fit to be our manager. That's the challenge of being a manager isn't it? To turn out good results when times are tough. The only one making things difficult is himself and his negative attitude and approach to the challenges ahead. Now he's giving the vibes that he's admitting defeat even before the season starts. Not getting the 2 players he wanted is not the end of the season. He still have a good team to work with.

Personally, I don't think Jose is interested in any of the central defenders speculated by the medias namely Mina, Maguire, Aldreweireld or even Kurt Zouma. If he is keen, apart from Mcguire and Alderweireld who are priced out of reach, the other two should be in the pocket.

It is clear in United that although ED looks after the commercial part in the process of the purchase, the choice of the player requires the nod from the manager.

From what I view, Jose is eyeing the big one in term of Bale or Willian. Apart from the unwillingness from the clubs that are not prepared to release the players, these players are priced excessively - far beyond their market value.
Next, to get in these players would results in the further side-lining of Martial - a player that United refuse to let go off and the fringing of Marcus Rashford who would have lesser games to play.

ED is not into the footballing matters and in this case, he must have been advised by somebody within the United's footballing hierrachy. Bale - unless we pay stupid monies to RM for them to pick up Mbappe, RM is not selling Bale, that left us with Willian and Chelsea wants big monies - not unless Jose is willing to chip in and go help with the deal with Roman. Anyway, Roman cannot sell anyway cheaper than the price that they had turned down Barcelona even if he were to want to be nice to Jose.

So at the end of the day, unless it is the players targeted by Jose, ED is buying nobody and hawkish fans would pin the blame on ED.

Looking at the Premier League top teams - none of the top 6 teams had any top attacking players roped in. This is a season whereby top attacking upfield players availability is next to none.

So, if none are available and none of the top clubs manage to get hold any top prominent attacking upfield players as we do, why should Jose or ourselves be complaining.

We have top quality players in Martial, Rashford, Lakaku, Alexis, and Pogba to support as attacking mid to make good.

Next we have the additions of Fred and Andreas Perierra to our midfield line-up of Pogba, Mata, Felliani, Hererra, Matic, and Jessie Lingard.

We may say that we only had 4 front line players. Well, it is rarely the case when Jose fielded both Martial and Rashford in the same team. So, with the prsence of Jessie Lingard or Mata on the wing, either Martial or Rashford had to be on the bench. So, ED must have been advised that why pay stupid big monies on Willian or Bale and allow Jose to further trash Martial and causing further unrest and further diminish Rashford by letting him having lesser games.

For the defense, we have 12 players in term of:

Antonio Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw, Marcus Rojo, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmain, Tuanzebe, Diogo Dalot such that even Tuanzebe and Fosu Mensah had to be loaned out.

So, unless Jose is willing to offload any of these 12 defenders, we can't be getting more defenders in and having most of them sit on the bench or up at the director's box collecting huge wages.

Jose can have his whims and fancies but the club must be able to run its business and not waste monies unnecessarily - keeping a huge squad with huge payroll and not playing majority of them and causing huge unrest amongst the good potentialled players.

So, we have a good squad of 4 goalkeepers, 10 defenders, 8 midfielders and 4 front-line players which are not world class but good enough for Jose to make good - so why the complain when we have a first team of 26 good players and with a handful of potential youngsters knocking at the door and not having a chance to have a game - the likes of Angel Gomes, Talith Chong.

Everton will definitely seem like a top 6 contender with their new signings, that is if the manager don’t fade off like he did during his last 2 spells

I think it is still tough on them as they had not had a replacement for Lakaku. They lack striking power. Their only potential striker now is Syfi Sigurdsson and their new addition of Richarlisson.

It appears that the only available striker on the market this season on the last day is Ings.

im just glad we didnt buy Maguire for like what? 70mil?
this i gotta give credit to them for not caving in.
edit: also, Mina was sold for half the amount offered to us.

next season can go for toby at half the price.

according to Spurs camp, they don't have players with release clause.
so im also doubting he really has a 25m clause.
edit: just checked. his contract runs out in June 2019, so no need clause also can buy him cheap

and by next year, im not sure if the club will still (need) to go for him.
next season can go for toby at half the price.

Exactly, by adding Fred plus the return of Pereria we could have push City to the last day of the league. Remembered we lost alot of so called small game due to poor midfield.

Let’s see! Interesting battle for top 6 this season. Even West Ham had a very productive window.

Let’s see if Spurs, Us and Chelshit has the depth and strength to survive the drop.

These 3 teams on paper wise, are pretty lacking.

First game in a few hours time. Curious to see what players will Jose field for midfield.

I’m guessing Pereria and Fred. Since Matic and Herrera are injured?

Best gossip that I had read this morning

Manchester United's board told Jose Mourinho he should stop demanding money for new signings and focus on working with the talent at his disposal and develop youth players instead. (Mirror)

Yeah learnt how to get the best out of the current batch players plus Fred and the other 2.. sorry one is already on MC. Lolxxxxxx

Just popi our player stay fit and we will be "safe".

Last season we did well against the top clubs but sucks at the bottom few. Hope we will do well this season.

I mean... this "might" be jose last season in charge. He NEED to win something, CL or league.

I am just scare people like martial saboing him and our club. He is so young, he got nothing much to lose.

Let’s see if Spurs, Us and Chelshit has the depth and strength to survive the drop.

These 3 teams on paper wise, are pretty lacking.

Generally, from the look of the teams from the last season of which not much changes are made to Man City, Us, Chelsea and none for Spurs - only Liverpool is a team that brought in a goal keeper, 2 midfielders and a Stoke class Swiss Striker ( that appeared to have strengthened ). Arsenal on the other hand had a new handful of replacements - the majority of which are unknown.

Notwithstanding, the gap between the top 6 and the rest were rather huge and it is highly unlikely that however Everton were to strengthen their defense and West Ham were to revamp their team, it will be good enough to mount a challenge to dismount us or Chelsea or Spurs.

Spurs may be hard pressed to win something. Liverpool would have to win at least a silverware from their performance in their last season and the amount of monies spent. If they don't, the pressure from their fans would be immense. City is still the team to beat. Chelsea with Sarri in would perhaps be giving Us and Liverpool the push. Spurs will be there and thereabout. Arsenal is a totally new perspective team.

So, unless Everton or West Ham as you have mentioned can mount a Leicester City of 2016, I don't think the gap to the top 6 would be closing.

Agree we need a RW most. Can Perreira or even Chong please step up and make that slot yours? Keeping fingers crossed.

No one notices Fulham quietly spent 110m euro NET this window?

Everton has overloaded of forward players.

What many outlets saying is no release clause in Toby's current contract that runs out in 2019 summer. Spurs has an option to extend 1 year to 2020, but it will also auto add in an release clause of 25m into the contract.
