October may still have typhoon judging from this year trend.

columbia jacket omni-heat series looks good. these have thin metallic coat inside that said to reflect & retain heat. less bulk than goose down

also add merino wool or polartec thermal base layer

if still not enough … add more in-between

Those heat tech should b light n can be bought from TW convenient stores.

originally plan for taichung wu ling hualian taipei … but decided to go slower pace so changing my plans. besides view at wu ling like so-so nia …

will base at yilan - keelung - taipei
any recommendations for accommodation for yilan keelung thats near train or bus stations?

taipungshan better access from Keelung or yilan? read about purple maple tree … something new!

Maybe you can stay 1-2 night at yilan, book a cab/car to cover wuling and Taipingshan in a day. Same as Taichung diy not easy.

Maybe you can stay 1-2 night at yilan, book a cab/car to cover wuling and Taipingshan in a day. Same as Taichung diy not easy.

Taipingshan public bus u at most can cover 1/2 place , bring ur charger along
Bus got charging port and wifi
If want see cloud sea can ask the driver drop u off at that place even thou there’s no stop just need to inform in advance. I stayed yilan airbnb last time.

Otherwise if u finish one place Liao instead of walking to next destination just hitch a ride

Hualien go climb zhuilu just apply permit in advance
