Paiseh...From the color of the fries,I roughly know who is the mother but the father might have passed away liao.

OIC.
normally, they will put more than 1 male and a few female to breed the new line just in case some male or female are infertile.

than they will split the fry according to genders and grow them up separately.

after a few weeks, they will pick the best from the fry and breed again in order to strengthen the blood line.

i can already picture how to setup moi nxt tank.. :s13:
still got 1 glass 1ft tank lying somewhere....

will have some small stones in the center, tie java moss to stones.
Then suround the base with carpet monte carlo.... Outer edge of the "circle" will have ferns...

going to keep mayb platies (1 male 3 females) or betta (1 male 3 females)
then some bumblee horn snails....
CPO / shrimps.... (more towards CPO)....

:s13:

You youtube waterfall aquarium, look at the different setup. Actually, not all aquarium are fully flooded. Some are only 20% flooded, some 30%, some 60%.

Stacked rock hidding a submerged pump then water flows out. Aquatic plants though with more lights need to trim regularly. Of course, moss and plants are here and there all tied. Could be inspiring, so look at europe side, japan side. See how difference is east and west setup like.

Those internal filter with spray bar, can the length of the pipe be extended so that the spray bar will be spraying water down at the top of rocks like waterfall

And the internal filter will lie flat at the bottom of the tank....

submersed small pump. this one too big. too close to light will grow algae. pipes are clear one and small. 1 straight 1 L joint. no rainbow bar. 1 ft is singapore too small. means pipe buy separate. pump likely 3w-5w type, low energy footprint.

I soak them in medicated mix of different meds and brands, but a few hrs, then wash and soak in clear water. This instant be using dedicated pail. Pail rect. with handle to carry and a cover up when not in use. Satisfy liao then pincher the root, gently insert into the soil.

If planting a lot some debris will appear on water surface, use cup, submerse a bit a water sucking effect is there to attract the debris into cup then pour into pail. As for debris thats running around, use clear tubing , mouth suck one side, release water to pail, the other end into tank to aim at debris while another hand finger cover the water output end. I don't want to suck out all the water, so water flow is very controlled using this hand.

Where do you guys normally get your fishes from?

If at Clementi, i will prefer to get from LFS, Polyart or Arowana Avenue.. fishes look more healthy and cleaner water.

For lifestock, i usually get from:

- Aquatic Avenue: Redhill
- Fresh n Marine: McPherson
- Green Chapter: McPherson (ex though, but they have a solid apisto collection)
- JZX: AMK
- Fishy Business: Near Kembangan
- Exquisite Fishes: Beauty World
- Iven's Betta: Beauty World
- Fishtopia: Beauty World

used to go Seaview too, but haven't been there since they moved.

Last week I went fresh and marine... The fish in a few of their fresh water tanks doesn't look healthy. maybe because they moved to the new shop not too long ago?
