In determining the amount of retail purchases for purposes of calculation
of Citi Miles, the following transactions/charges shall not be taken into
account and will not earn any Citi Miles:
(i) annual fees, interest charges, late payment charges, GST, cash
advances, instalment/easy/extended/equal payment plans, preferred
payment plans, balance transfers, cash advances, quasi-cash
transactions, all fees charged by Citibank or third party, miscellaneous
23
charges imposed by Citibank (unless otherwise stated in writing by
Citibank);
(ii) funds transfers using the card as source of funds;
(iii) bill payments (including via Citibank Online or via any other channel or
agent);
(iv) payments to educational institutions;
(v) payments to government institutions and services (including but
not limited to court cases, fines, bail and bonds, tax payment, postal
services, parking lots and garages, intra-government purchases);
(vi) payments to insurance companies (sales, underwriting, and
premiums);
(vii) payments to financial institutions (including banks and brokerages);
(viii)payments to non-profit organizations;
(ix) betting or gambling (including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, offtrack
betting, and wagers at race tracks) through any channel;
(x) any top-ups or payment of funds to payment service providers,
prepaid cards and any prepaid accounts;
(xi) transit-related transactions; and
(xii) transactions performed at establishments/businesses/merchants
that fall within an excluded Merchant Category or a merchant that has
been excluded by the bank, as set out in www.citibank.com.sg/rwdexcl
(you acknowledge that this list of excluded Merchant Categories or
merchants may be updated from time to time at our discretion and you
agree to refer to this list for any updates);

Long list of exclusion from earning mile points now. :(

Excluding Transit related transaction means all topup for Ezlink etc are not clocking as well.......so much for top up of Ez-link at MRT Station using credit card.

I tried to calculate the miles at my end. I used the following excel formula that was shared:

=ROUNDDOWN(Amount*1.2,)

Citibank listed 881 miles in total.

But my excel sheet clocked 884 miles.

All transactions are local except for one. Due to their ongoing promotion, the overseas transaction, I used:

=ROUNDDOWN(Amount*2.4,)

What happened to my missing 3 miles?

Realised when I used this for foreign transactions:

=ROUNDDOWN((ROUNDDOWN(E7,0)*1.2),0)+ROUNDDOWN((ROUNDDOWN(E7,0)*0.8),0)+ROUNDDOWN((ROUNDDOWN(E7,0)*0.4),0)

and this for local transactions:

=ROUNDDOWN(E3,0)*1.2

the miles would be as what citibank calculated.

Weird.

Read that BOC Elite gives the best miles points, seems like not bad but my spending is not a lot, so I prefer 1 without long expiry date or no expiry date for the mile points

seems like only citi PM gives no expiry date?

Oh, ok. Which is better? Citi or dbs?

Posted from PCWX using ONEPLUS 5T

No head no tail question again. Better for what? DBS can be better for Trazora for its online flight/hotel booking, but Citi can be better for me for more transfer partners.

Yes, only principal cardholder will enjoy the travel inconvenience cover. The spouse and children will still enjoy medical/death/disability cover though.

Sorry for bumping this but does anyone know if the free insurance covers parents? I’m the principal cardholder and my parent is the supplementary cardholder travelling with me in the same booking. Full fare is charged to my card. Is my parent covered?

I found the T&C at https://www.citibank.com.sg/gcb/credit_cards/pdf/Complimentary.pdf

Based on my intepretion, your parents will be covered if their fare is charged to their supplementary card. But in your case as your parents fare were charged to your card, they may not be covered. Pls call the hotline to confirm.

Lol, sounds like one have to split the reservation up into individual passenger.
Not so good during IRROPS, or to seat together when flight is very full or unable to select seats in advance.

Assuming local spending, you would get 9000 miles from the spending, plus 30k bonus miles, total 39k miles for 7.5k spending and $192.60 in annual fee.

Next, you can consider how much miles you would have earned on the 7.5k if you did not spend it here. There are 4mpd cards out there for local spending, so the $7.5k would already net you a potential 30k miles. This gives the $192.60 annual fee for only 9k miles.

Of course, other factors would come into play, like if your $7.5k spending would not qualify for any 4mpd or if you are looking at airline partners exclusive to Citibank, then it might be more worth it. Anything less than $0.01 is a fantastic deal, so if your $7.5k spending only qualifies for 1.4mpd on other cards, then it works out to $0.007 per mile on the annual fee.
