I will rate in term of cheapest in Nordic countries

1) Finland
2) Sweden
3) Norway - most expensive

Include restaurant, cafe, supermarket and petrol.

At Helsinki, still can find a few £10 simple Chinese buffets near the casino. But in Norway, a simple BK meal cost almost S$20/-

Left from hotel about 8am, return almost 5pm. So it's probably full day. BBQ lunch on board, there were salmon, pork ribs and pinky whale meat.
Thanks for all the information! Anything else travellers should take note?

I lived in Norway for several years, you'll have an amazing time if you love nature! You don't need to bring any cash into Norway, as credit cards are accepted literally everywhere. In restaurants or hotels you probably won't have any issues but you might have issues if you purchase items from supermarkets as they only accept locally issued credit cards. And summer is the best time to visit, during winter various roads will be closed. Lastly always bring warm clothes, always notify someone if you go hiking and never underestimate the weather, people (almost always tourists) have died because they always underestimate the weather.

Just chance on this thread and now regret never book to go Lofoten. I book 4 night in Tromsø and was wondering should I change to 2 night Tromsø n 2 night Lofoten. But I need to fly out from Tromsø to Oslo. So my question is actually cost to get from Tromsø to lofoten? Rome2rio website say around 200$ one way by bus and ferry. Trips in 6 November.

I recall Norway was very expensive. But the scenery was indeed very beautiful. One of the highlights of my previous trip was a drive to Trollstigen.

Spent almost 3 weeks in norway some yrs back. Lofoten is very beautiful, if time is a premium, I would just do Lofoten over the rest of Norway
However in winter the options for transport visiting each of the villages will be limited. Drive carefully, there issin't much traffic ( compared to summer ) , care taken when cornering, the locals love to do a good walk from village to village, wouldn't wanna cause accidents. seen an overturned minivan with young drivers sitting and sulking by the side.

Reine ( voted the most beautiful village in norway )

Henningsvær, one of the last villages to be "connected" via bridge, hence more rural and unspoilt.
