Hi can i ask some qns about shopping district in Taipei:

西門町 is it like our bugis street? I check online opening hour until 11pm, true for shops and departmental stores selling cloths/accessories?
What about 五分埔? equivalent to where in SG
Lastly, what's the equivalent of Orchid road in Taipei?

Thanks.

Ximengding is akin to bugis street plus plus.

Wufenbu, i see it as similiar to bugis street (less makan) and alot of wholesalers. There's generally 2 parts to this place; one to cater for individual purchases, one to cater for bulk purchases (where they don't entertain individuals).

As for orchid road equivalent, 101 and vicinity?

Hope this helps!

Personally I find Singapore shopping industry quite different from Taipei, so it's hard to identify a Bugis or Orchard equivalent in Taipei. Our Orchard is whole stretch of high-end and middle shopping, I don't recall Taipei has something similar. 101, Mitsukoshi, Xinyi comes close but they are not a stretch. XMD is unique too, has a stretch of cinemas, steamboat restaurants, food pushcarts, small boutiques. You may want to consider 忠孝東路 too, there are quite a number of independent labels but they can be quite hard to find even if you use Google maps...
I notice the same in Kaohsiung too, don't have like our Orchard whole stretch of shopping.

It's an extra $11 per way. I'll take China Airlines for the seats, meals and check in bags.

China Airlines is more comfortable than the budget airlines.

Wanna ask, i understand that 11/24 is their election day

So will most of the eateries, restaurants and night markets be closed?

voting is optional, so many eateries will be open, so are shopping malls.
