XS like over price lei.. xr a better option?

Think of downgrade the screen size too!

You may have already answered your question:
“XS overpriced” - so XS and XS Max is No
“Downgrade screen size” - XR is No

so you’re left with iPhone 8.

News reports that consumers are swooping iPhone 8 and 8 plus instead of XR causing Apple to reduce production output for XR XS XS max

IPhone 8 and plus are the last with Touch ID. Get those while you can. Although I am using XS max, I miss the Touch ID.

I'm still using iP7 and I'm not looking for upgrading any time soon.
However, I'm going to replace my iP7 Battery before the year-end.
Hope it can last me another 2 years.

I used my 7 for 21 months and the battery became 83% never changed before.

Bang for buck, I would suggest get the 8+. You get all the good stuff on the 7+ but you get better cameras with Portrait Lighting, True Tone display, wireless charging, better battery life and more grippy due to the glass back.

If you want FaceID and bokeh selfie get the XR. You’ll get the best battery life on an iPhone ever. You’ll lose out your 1080p screen quality. The XR is really a bulky phone. I can only recommend it to you if you want the A12’s monstrous speed and a rugged phone with great battery life.

If you want the crown jewel, the flagship and if you want all the latest and greatest features available on an iPhone, get the XS Max. But willing to spend the money due to the price being expensive as you already mentioned.

How’s the Face ID recognition? Is it as fast and reliable as Touch ID even under poor lighting conditions?

Face ID works very well even in low lighting. So far Face ID feels faster for me and more natural.

After you use face ID for first few days you wont want to use back touch ID.

Face id is still slightly slower compared to the latest version of touch id but it's quite close. But face id is more intuitive
