Nowadays I have no expectations for United.
Any win is like bonus.
No surprise at all if lost or draw against smaller teams.
The team performance are unpredictable, but mostly poor.

It's going to be a huge challenge for the team to pull themselves into the top 4 for 2H of this season. What is needed to start this?

of cos ultimately the keeper is to blame for conceding but there is only so much he can do.

our defence has been allowing an insane amount of shots to go through. we were lucky he was good last season but it will be unfair to demand that of him as a normal standard.
Yes he was, but he did make some good saves too. That's why I mentioned our defense is weak this season is partly cos of him too. He's not having a good season by his high standards. Same with LKK. And both their form contribute immensely to our -1 GD. Anyway it was a positive performance overall. This weekend we should be able to beat Fulham who is bottom easily.
this match is just papering over the cracks. these days we dont have consistency of that good attitude.

matic is finished. so many poor games consecutively yet jose keep starting him and leaving 50m Fred out entirely.

Looking at the team's current form and predicament, this cannot be so easily assumed. Soton was second bottom last weekend and we couldn't beat them. :D

Tiagong JM might field a 5 man defence. :vijayadmin:

3-5-2 seems to help mask our weaknesses

Matic is man of the match.

You still watching last season matches? Herrera was clearly the man of the match against arsenal. One man midfielder, 1 assist 3 key passes, 5 tackles 6 interceptions. Matic couldn't even get close to half

Missed the first half but caught the 2nd. Surprised by JesseL's overall contribution - that's the spirit some of our players were not willing to come up with week in week out.

I thought DiogoD was decent, but he looked kinda punctured by the 75th min, and so many of their plays came from his side.

Good to see EricB back - hope he resolves whatever issue he has had/is still having. He looked a little less rash, but will need more games to regain his partnership with ChrisS.

DavidDG was obviously annoyed with himself for the first goal. But he made up for that with some great saves in the 2nd half.

Have some hope guys. The season isn't over until end May.

You exaggerate lah. Top 4 with this squad should be a minimum.

Our form player for the last 4 years used up his form and is going into overdrive. Our current form player isn't exactly a team lifter on his own yet. And the rest are not consistent and still figuring out how to follow the manager's style but yet press ahead correctly. And the dreaded "departmental jinx" is somewhat back. And a "star" player deciding he can prance around however he feels like.

And 2 newbie assistant managers. Really, regardless how good a player was, or how good a coach is with the youth team, it doesn't necessarily translate into coaching the first team, as we've seen. But he appointed them (or agreed to appoint them), so he can't now replace them. Let's hope it all works out better in the long term and we can look back and say "thankfully we gave them their chance to assist JoseM".

David De Gea made a couple of amazing saves to deny Aubameyang, becoming the first keeper to deny the Gabonese's on target attempt since Fabianski in early September.
