If your machine are installed with any Adobe Flash Player, pls uninstall them altogether.
Either use the Speedtest App from Microsoft App store which is not affected by the Adobe Flash Player or Use only Windows 10 & Microsoft Edge browser.

The results will be different.

Since your speedtest result fall within the typical download speed there is nothing much to do.

Beside you are direct wired from ONT to computer on doing the speedtest.

Some of the settings when performing speedtest;
  • Turn-off windows firewall
  • Turn-off anti-virus firewall
  • Computer to be free from virus, malware and worms (to prevent background downloading)


This is my result:
Note that running the speedtest while other devices may be on active connection including 2 routers.
1) Starhub Local Speedtest on Chrome
This is due to Chrome using flash issue since this year.
Previously the speedtest result is in reasonable range above 700mbps.
2) Standalone Ookla Speedtest App result
This is via Ookla Speedtest App for desktop
Both speedtest are done on laptop Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Whereas on Windows 10 via Edge the speedtest result is better;

My Starhub is super slow and getting 600 Mbps on LAN cable. M1 is at least 880 to 950 Mbps la. M1 is better than Starhub.

go make some noises.

Seems that there is a handful of people is not getting the subscribed speed but Starhub is unaware of it.

3. There is a Speedtest App from Microsoft Store. Can you run it .

The computer specs is also important and the performance of the computer is also important.

after uninstall flash and direct ont.

They will be coming down this coming Monday (the 4th times)

Hopefully, they can figure out what went wrong.

Earlier i also have the same problem so i email to make noise and request to change the ONT which Starhub management agreed to do so. Now speed back to normal.

Cannot be I so unlucky that the new ONT also have problem?

This time do it properly and prepare for everything as technician is here for you.

Let the technician do the speedtest with their laptop to verify the result especially on the download.

And standby your computer to connect and do the speedtest with the technician presence.

If their laptop still unable to show the best result of the speedtest then you can make a case and for them to rectify.

As for any queries on relating to the router it is best to see if the technician can provide the answers &or any information they might know about.

Your decision.

Their window based laptop get worse result than mine.

But on MacBook, the download speed go above 800 mbps but upload speed fall below 600 mbps.

Then they wanted to close the case.

I rejected their request and ask them to check what is 'systematic fibre internet connections'
