how does the go perform out of S mode? usable?

More than usable. It's just like a laptop, most of the time I use it like one. If just surfing net, I will flip the keyboard around , but find the touch not that smooth. Use the pen better for scrolling.

unable to decide at this moment whether to get surface go or pro.
my budget is 1k++
it is around a surface go (8G/128G) or a surface pro (M3 , 4G/128G)

I have not tried it out at the store yet. so just wondering if surface go is good or better choice over M3 cpu surface pro.

I am restricting myself to this 2 cpu as I got a main laptop to use.
this is more for surfing net / movie / reading / email

I was comparing the price point, about $100++ diff between the 2 surface.
do u feel u should get surface go instead of pro ... after u got it?

Wait for Surface Pro 6 if you can.

My main gripe is that Singapore still no news. And some retailers are marketing the surface pro 5 as latest model

I been using my Surface Go for 2 weeks ago and find that it will replace my Samsung Galaxy tab pro s (Core m3 with 4gb Ram) in which I use for 2 years.

The windows hello and the keyboard is really a great feature of this device. It is easier to hold for me and do some light work on the go. For course performance is not the best but it is manageable for the work I intend to use on it .

PS: Not using chrome as it really is a resource hog imo.

Got my Surface Go a couple of weeks ago.
Small tip to SG buyers with Amazon Prime: the accessories may be cheaper on Amazon and they qualify for free shipping. The tablet itself, however, does not qualify for free shipping as they are sold by third party sellers. So I bought my Surface Go from the SG Microsoft store and the accessories from Amazon.
(The accessories still arrived a week before the tablet.)

Just curious as I have never done a Win10 Factory Reset before.

On my Surface Go lets say if I change out of S-Mode to Win10 Professional using my Win10 Professional key.

Later if I perform a Factory Reset, will it become back to the default Win10 Home edition?

do u make a backup before installing anything or before getting out of S mode ?

i have not tried to reinstall win10 yet but .. anyone tried ?
using type-C to usb extension and put in a win10 usb installation?

there was one day i did not take the surface charger with me and so i shutdown my surface go, and use a mobile charger with type C connector to charger the surface go. to my surprise when i power up the Go, ... it is not charged at all.
so next i tried to put Go to sleep mode and charge thru the type C again. this time it charges.
is this normal? as in able to charge in sleep mode but not in shutdown mode ?

I didn't do any backup. I received my Go, played with the S-mode for a few minutes, went on to change to Win10.

U can find the changeover in one of the menu. No need to plug in anything as Win 10 is loaded by default.

Not sure about the charging though.
