Never buy from Newegg.
But interested in getting Crucial MX500.
Any local retailers carry this brand and model?

Why buy local when online is so much cheaper?

My Crucial M4 128gb still running well since how many donkey years!!

Also, any offer for MX500 @ 500 GB?

if that is the case then you better go buy from shop or online but choose local stocks.

for overseas crucial ssd we will liaise with them online and follow instructions given (most probably sending to taiwan on our own).

For local stock, you go to Convergent System at Ubi crescent for exchange.

Then I will camp for ur thread.

Pruss huan for chiu :s12:

BTW, anyone ever used the WD Green Series SSD?

Heard it's SLC, not sure is the entire drive or just the flash cache.

You should find out more about it by Googling. It's a DRAM-less SSD, and works with SLC cache. No chance at the low end will you get actual SLC NAND. Even the cheapest MLC SSD is quite pricey.

any specific reasons why? been seeing pple say this. is it just the usual trend of tech improving hence less costly to produce or due to the drop in demand for mining or??

Many reasons. One is the short supply of Intel causing slowdown for new PC, also a decline in demand for high end mobile phones, coupled with an improve in supply in NAND is putting pressure on price.

do ssd local warranty help? typically how long does it last?

MX500 480GB, Sandisk Plus 480GB and others can get below 2 digits S$99 (either Lazada,Q10,Shoppee,neweg when there is a promo) from local sellers. Amazon US is USD58.

SSD price steadily dropping. RAM seems to have stabilized and DRAM prices forecasted to go back up end of 2019.

u muz check if ur mb support nvme first
if not, u cannot use normal ssd unless u get a pcie nvme adapter
note that adapter cannot be used as boot drive

as for the price...mehz...a cheap nvme will have similar performance
unfortunately, all local ssd is expensive
