Did you set cimb mastercard as primary payment method and top up using primary card ie without entering card no.? Set grappay as primary. Top up by entering card number each time. Description will be GRABTAXI if you do this.
Hmm how come your grab top ups get recorded with such serial number style? Did u do the top up like normal via the Grab app? Am just curious. As I’ve been doing grab top up all the time and it’s always Grabtaxi pte Ltd. unless grab change their backend algorithm recently to differentiate between tops up and rides *gasp*
Under GrabPay, my primary payment method is GrabPay credits.
To top up GrabPay credits, I go to "Cards and Wallets" and select my CIMB Plat card which is saved under GrabPay.
Didn't know abt the diff description if I top up by manually entering card number each time - thought selecting a saved card is more convenient.
I learnt by trial and error. Also wondered why description always different. When the mastercard was set as primary payment mode, grab food app transaction has description GRABFOOD. Don't know will get 10% for this or not.
So safest is set primary as Grabpay and top up by keying in card no.

Have not got the rebate. But transactions posted and CSO told me those with description Grab * won't get transport rebate but those with description GRABTAXI will.

I think those grab rides directly charged to card rather than grabpay credits will still get 10%. But good sharing on the manual top up method!
I think I lost at least $30 cashback
grab pay or grabpay credit topup fall under transport.

For the record, my last top up with CIMB Platinum was on Dec 7th, posted Dec 9th. I got the 9.8% in Jan. the description is the same as those masked as ineligible.
So if it does not award the 9.8%, it must be new.
How about Visa Signature? Should still be online, right?
