depends on which month u r going there ...
If you are going during Jul to Oct period, where it rains often, the hotel prices are reasonably cheap. You can get a 3* Hotel nearby jungcelon mall for 20+ sgd per nite for two ... 5* hotel about 90+. During peak period, the price can go up to 80+ per nite ... Applies to almost all hotels ...

If you are going solo, can take the minibus, about 200b per person...
the minibus would stop few places ... If you are going to take a taxi, can consider booking your own airport transfer, about 700b for a sedan car ... takes one hour to reach jungceylon mall (if u r staying there)

Malls that you can look forward to are jungceylonmall.
Many 3* / 4* hotels there ... The best would be pinmara boutique and Millennium resort patong phuket (beside the mall)

Centara Festival, and Central Phuket Floresta (both nearby)
However, not much hotel nearby that area ...

I recommend my recent hotel, Amata Patong Resort.

Cheap and good and super convenient walk to anywhere. This hotel mostly Ang Mo lived.

But then if you wanted to go further. Need to book a cab and transportation in Phuket is not cheap.

Have stayed at few 3/4* hotel in Patong area:
Would recommend this hotel:
Pinmara Boutique
5* Rating for service, only 2 floors, just beside jungceylon mall
Breakfast is set menu, but the portion is very big ...

Others hotel that have stayed before which are decent (in my opinon):
Hemingwalk Silk, Patong Expat, Tiger Hotel, Sira Grande, etc

Depending on your budget and your travelling dates ...
If you want a good view nearby the beach, can consider
Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa
Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort And Spa
Centara grand beach resort etc
all those international chains. But price is not cheap though ...
From there to jungceylon mall is perhaps about 30+min walk at least , or 250b one way by grab or tuktuk...

Quite a number of them. Depend on your Budget.

I used to stay Patong Beach Hotel during the early 90s. It's situated just opposite Patong Beach but price a bit high.

My recent stay in Amata Patong Resort is not near to the beach and cost cheaper.

Location for both hotels are very good and walking distance to Jungceylon Mall. Bangla street is also around there.

Preferably to stay around that area as transportation in Phuket is not cheap unless you're driving or riding there.

Yes agree. transporation is not cheap in phuket ...
Once stayed at Novotel Phuket Vintage Park Resort nearby, is 12 min or 1km walk to Jungceylon Shopping Center. Is super tiring ... tuk tuk quoted us 200b one way, is quite expensive for $16 just to go to the mall ...

If you are staying far, do check if the hotel provides shuttle service .
Checked with few hotels, almost all have selected timing departure to the mall and the beach ... some of them provides one way trip only ...
