Any comments on the IKEA Flintan?

10 year guarantee with lumbar support for $79.

LOL , think 9 out of 10 won't give this chair a second look.

Most users need to look good to feel good, in hokkien we call it " ai siew mai mia " = "want looks don't want life "

Same like all the gamer's PC = Just give me i5 + gtx1060 but please allocate more budget to RGB

initially almost gotten the full mesh one.
Since i worry about sweating.
End up reading too much about "china" exploding gas pump. which... made me very worried.

Plus the meshed chairs (bottom/back) are abit on the stiffer side. (take note)

so u gotten which one?

Guys, please just spend 1 time good one on a proper chair like Herman Miller.

It’s only 1-2k, which is the same price of your gaming rig, but it will last you for years to come and make sure you have healthy back

No regret buying one

so u gotten which one?

1st.
ikea Markus (returned - out of goodwill)

2nd.
ikea hattefjall (regretted)

I have issues with my tailbone. which kinda hurts.
initially I sat at Ikea for half an hour and I thought it will be a good fit for me.

end up. brought home.
I realised I wear different clothing at home.

which... all the problems came back.

maybe the cheapo chairs could be a better fit.. I dunno.
I looked for multiple solutions before, swimming floats. pillow, towel. etc.

now I am looking at sit-stand chair
or even exercise ball

but the initial thoughts for the mesh chair was for ventilation.

if not the best solution (cheapest some more)
- don't sit for too long...

can i ask why you return ikea markus?

i was looking at that as well

I don't wear shirt at home
the back mesh
1. caused some pain, (partially due to my body frame)
2. after long seating my tailbone started hurting
3. difficult to rest on the back rest (it has this weird back arch which is not very suitable for me)

remember that different body. different needs.
what works for one may not be for another.

I don't care for looks, and agree with you that RGB is disgusting stuff meant for poseurs.

But back to the question: any comments on the Flintan?

I bought this to replaced the wheel casters. Very worth it. Used for 4 years already and still ok. Last time I bought from Apres Marketing before taobao came into my life was chop carrot chop robert price ($14.5 before GST, each wheel ).

There is no foam on the chair except a small pc near the tight area there.. Aeron chair dun absorb sweat or dirt or stain. Only thing is the metal frame will get scratches and mesh might have holes or tears due to abuse. Else get used. Make sure u get fully loaded and check all adjustments are working. They are build like a tank and on the market there are even 20 years old aeron at superb condition.
