Well done CAAS.

Sad SIA didn't take the initiative to ground their own planes and had to wait for CAAS to tell them to. Typical.

Those silkair flights would be replaced with other aircraft ?
most likely boeing 737-800 ?
Or airbus a320 ?

however, dont think they can last until busan so far for direct flight ?

Not much of the difference as the distance between SG and busan fall in the range of both aircraft if fly direct.

A320-200 has the range of 3,300 nmi (6,112 km), whereas boeing 737-800 has 2,935 nmi (5,436 km).

Silkair currently have 6 , boeing 737-8 max
if the customer wants to get refund, the airline would refund them.
according to news report ...

Singapore to busan is 2844 miles.
If MI changed to a320 ... good luck lol ...
the seats are quite squeezy just like our budget airline jetstar and scoot a320
flying about 7 hours can be very uncomfortable ....

Not in favor of silkair ...
unless their price is slightly more compared to budget airline
then would consider flying with them ...

Never like them too. Also same price like SQ but at budget airlines standard.

No need to worry anymore since Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced the suspension of operation of the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

agree ... if flying KUL, silkair and SQ same prices.
would usually opt for SQ

silkair operating style differs from SQ
even for luggage damage polices, silkair tend not to compensate you ...
they regulations is stricter ...
wheels cracked, or missing, handle come out, all cannot claim ...
but sq they would give u another luggage for free ...

3 years ago, SQ did not compensate me for wheel damage ... the Baggage Office in SG showed me a sign that said damage to handles, wheels, scratches etc are wear & tear & they r not responsible

I should have claimed in HK instead ...

Nowadays more airlines ask you to claim from travel insurance, they just provide supporting report. Was the case when i took qatar last year.

Silkair really sucks to the bottom now. From ground to air..... nothing works well there.

Guys please stick to the topic and don't divert. Thanks.

As of now, even the US is going to ground their 737 Max 8 fleet.
So it's global now.
