Both Seungri & Jung Joon Young respond that they've turned in their phones to police

After completing their respective police questionings, Big Bang member Seungri and solo singer Jung Joon Young both answered the press's questions on whether or not they turned their mobile phones in for investigation.

Once he emerged from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Office exit, Seungri stood in front of the press and revealed his intentions to request a delay in his mandatory military enlistment. His legal representative then stepped up to address the media's latest accusations involving tax evasion, relaying, "We will release a statement at a later time."

While leaving the premise, one reporter asked Seungri, "Did you turn in your mobile phone for investigation?"*Seungri answered, "I did."

Likewise, Jung Joon Young came in front of the press to deliver a brief statement after finishing his first police questioning. He said, "Yes first of all, I still feel greatly apologetic. Regarding the investigation, I answered diligently and truthfully. Regarding the previously mentioned 'golden phone', I turned in all that was there, and answered all questions about it honestly. Again, I apologize for causing such an incident."

Reporter who first broke 'Burning Sun' scandal appears to have gone missing + netizens fear for his safety

imagepng.jpg

Reporter Oh Hyuk Jin, who’s well known to be one of the first reporters to cover the Burning Sun scandal, shot up to #1 on news ranking lists as netizens began to speculate that something terrible has happened to him.

News reporters sited that Oh Hyuk Jin closed his Instagram account following his previous posts that claimed he was digging deeper into the Burning Sun scandal, and that bigger news will soon be released over the next couple of weeks.

Netizens began to worry for his safety as he previously stated in a post that“[he will not] be framed of suicide or be killed.”

Netizens also believe threats are being made to all the reporters who continue to dig deeper into the case as Noh Seung Il, one of the veteran reporters working on the case, had one of his homes burnt down in flames. He was one of the top reporters during Choi Soon Sil’s scandal and was recently helping Oh Hyuk Jin with Burning Sun.

As his name continued to rank high on the search engines, his Instagram account reopened again but set to private. He has yet to make any announcements about his well-being or why his account was closed momentarily.

Police insider involved with Seungri, Mr. Yoo, & more is allegedly a senior superintendent

20190314-pjpg.jpg

According to Yeonhap News on March 15, the Seoul Metropolitan Police reportedly obtained additional information surrounding the police insider involved with former Big Bang member Seungri, his business partner Mr. Yoo of Yuri Holdings, Jung Joon Young, and more.

During his police questioning on March 14, Mr. Yoo allegedly revealed that the police insider in question holds a position equivalent to a senior superintendent. Previously in the Kakao Talk messages, this figure was referred to by a nickname 'Police President' - a position that does not exist within the current police bureau.

Also according to the Yeonhap News report, the Seoul Metropolitan Police have secured evidence that this police insider was involved in covering up business violations for Seungri, Mr. Yoo, and others in the group chat in the past; however, the name of the business was not mentioned.

FNC Entertainment confirms CNBLUE's Jonghyun viewed Jung Joon Young's hidden camera footage

On March 15, FNC Entertainmentreleased an updated official statement to address the controversy surrounding CNBLUE member Jonghyun's involvement in Jung Joon Young's Kakao chat room.

Read FNC's full statement below:

"Back on the evening of March 12, we revealed that our label artist Lee Jonghyun 'has no relation to the ongoing scandal whatsoever, only that he is acquainted with the individual involved.'

Lee Jonghyun, who is currently serving in the military, took part in police questioning the morning before the above statement occurred, on the afternoon of March 12. At the time, Lee Jonghyun felt that in approximately 20 or so messages containing a 1:1 conversation with him and Jung Joon Young, there was no evidence of illegal hidden camera footage or inappropriate remarks found; as a result, Jonghyun relayed to the company that he was not involved.

The company had no choice but to deliver a statement based on Lee Jonghyun's memories alone, as it has been 4-5 years since Jonghyun left the Kakao Chat room currently under fire, and we could not confirm the truth behind the conversations in this chat room. We did not intend to hide the truth or cover his mistakes in the least.

After the additional news report by SBS on March 14, we were able to get in contact with Lee Jonghyun. He has admitted that his attitude in viewing the footage shared in the Kakao Talk messages, and in the inappropriate remarks he made*degrading women, are actions deserving of condemnation; he is reflecting on his actions deeply.

He feels that if he had a proper perspective of gender rights at the time, he would not have been a bystander in these crimes. He apologizes to all who were disappointed and hurt by Jonghyun's immoral comments, made without any realization that he was committing a crime.

Jonghyun is currently accepting the public's harsh criticism of his immoral attitude and mistaken perspective of gender rights, feeling embarrassed and miserable about his character with great regret. As a public figure, Jonghyun will take caution in all of his actions and deeply reflect on his wrongdoings."

Park han byul husband step down from CEO role liao

The CEO Of Yuri Holdings Resigns From Position Following Allegations Of Providing Prostitution Services

Yuri Holdings has replaced their CEO.

On March 15, a source with a high rank at Yuri Holdings revealed, “We recently held an emergency board meeting and appointed Ahn Hyo Yoon, a former consulting specialist from outside [the company], as our new CEO. As a management specialist, he will give the company a fresh start.”

As a result, Yoo In Suk, who previously held the management rights of the company, has naturally resigned from his position. Regarding the former CEO undergoing questioning at the police station, the source said, “We do not now much about his personal matters. He’s been feeling a lot of pressure about work at the company ever since he got caught up in such disgraceful incidents and had to go through the police investigation.”

Yuri Holdings was founded by Seungri and Yoo In Suk in 2016 to operate several businesses in the food and entertainment sectors, which includes the controversial club Burning Sun.

The allegations against Yoo In Suk were first made on February 26, when SBS funE released text messages that were allegedly exchanged between him, Seungri, and an employee. The messages feature the three discussing providing sexual escort services to foreign investors, but the company denied the claims by saying that the messages were fabricated.

However, a new report on March 11 stated that hidden camera videos and photos were shared in a chatroom including Yoo In Suk, Seungri, and six other individuals. It was further revealed that one of the participants was Jung Joon Young, who later admitted to crimes and thus confirmed the existence of the chatroom.

Along with Seungri and Jung Joon Young, Yoo In Suk also arrived at the police station on March 14 around 12:50 p.m. KST to undergo questioning for allegations of providing prostitution services for business investors. He completed his investigation around 6 a.m. KST the following day.

Update: Military Manpower Administration Gives Official Response To Possibility Of Seungri Delaying Enlistment

Updated March 15 KST:

The Military Manpower Administration has released an official statement in response to Seungri’s announcement of requesting the postponement of his military enlistment.

The following is the full statement:

The Military Manpower Administration hereby gives the following statements regarding singer Seungri’s (full name Lee Seung Hyun) delay of his military enlistment.

There are no legal grounds that grant the Military Manpower Administration the power to postpone the enlistment date of a person who has been notified to enlist.

However, if the person has reasons that prevent him from enlisting on the scheduled date and thus makes a request to delay his enlistment date, [the Military Manpower Administration] will review whether or not [the date] can be delayed in accordance with Article 129 Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Military Service Law.

For your information, there has been a case in the past where one made a request to delay enlistment for being under investigation and [the request] was approved.

The following are possible grounds that allow postponement of enlistment according to Article 129 Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Military Service Law.

1. A person who is unable to fulfill his military duty due to an illness or mental disorder.

2. A person whose family member residing in the same household, such as his lineal ancestor or descendant, spouse, sister or brother, is greatly ill or has passed away, and thus requires him to care for the family member or make funeral arrangements.

3. Omitted through No. 7

8. Person who has difficulties carrying out his military duty for other inevitable reasons.

Original Article:

The Military Manpower Administration has responded to Seungri’s announcement to request the postponement of his military enlistment.

Early in the morning on March 15, Seungri completed his second round of questioning for various charges including violation of the law on the punishment of prostitution mediation. Before leaving the station, Seungri appeared in front of the press and announced his plans to make the official request to delay his military enlistment date.

However, Ki Chan Soo, the Chief of the Military Manpower Administration, stated that it will most likely be impossible for the singer to delay his enlistment.

He said, “Because there are no legal grounds allowing the Military Manpower Administration to delay [Seungri’s] enlistment, if the situation persists as it is, [Seungri] will be investigated in the military after enlisting.” He continued, “If he makes the request to postpone his enlistment date, we will take a look at his reasons and carefully examine them.”

If Seungri does make the request to delay his enlistment, the results will have to come out within 10 days before his scheduled enlistment date on March 25. Previously, the Military Manpower Administration also clarified that Seungri will be enlisting as planned unless an arrest warrant is issued and he is imprisoned before his enlistment. If the investigation continues following his enlistment, the police will work in partnership with the military.

Cha Seung Won, Yoo Hae Jin, And Bae Jung Nam Are Ready To Welcome Travelers For PD Na Young Suk’s New Variety Show

The upcoming variety show is helmed by producing director Na Young Suk. It will star the three actors as they run an alberge, an inexpensive hostel that provides accommodation and meals, in Villafranca del Bierzo, Spain for travelers walking the 800-kilometer (approximately 497 miles) Santiago pilgrimage trail.

In the official poster, Yoo Hae Jin, Bae Jung Nam, and Cha Seung Won pose casually outside a rustic Spanish building. Armed with cleaning supplies and work clothes, they look ready to welcome any traveler that may stray their way.

It was reported that no only did Cha Seung Won show off his famed “Three Meals A Day” cooking skills, but he also took care of others with his dignified yet humorous personality. His sincere exchanges and natural communication with those who stayed in the alberge earned him the nickname “King of Communication at Alberge Boarding House.”

“Boarding House in Spain” will air its first episode on March 15 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
