My only Sony phone, Z5 Premium, which I'd gotten early 2016 IIRC, barely lasted 3 years. I still have the phone, but can't use it anymore as I suspect battery kaput.....previously it repeatedly charge, stop, charge, stop until I gave up trying to charge it. Now, when I try to recharge, it doesn't charge at all. Wondering it it's worth replacing the battery......

Must be due to the overheating snapdragon 810.

If the price is below $50, maybe. But it might be better worth getting a new phone. If you are interested in an Xperia for cheap I saw some sellers in Boon Lay selling Xperia Xz for $178. Just need to key in your carrier apn settings and you should be fine.

Battery usually will wear out but depend on usage.
Especially for those who charge constantly especially with power bank
the battery will wear out even faster.

Z5 premium is rather old, the decision is up to you but
expect few hundred dollars to replace it. (Parts + labor)

I would pass on SD810.
You're better off getting a second hand XZ Premium.

Huawei’s new P30 Pro smartphone has jaw-dropping low-light abilities and industry-leading image quality. The company has been touting its quad camera system as being co-engineered by Leica, but here’s an interesting piece of info that isn’t being widely publicized: all the imaging sensors were made by Sony.

EE Times just published a teardown of the P30 Pro in which they discovered the Sony origins of the sensors.

“Separating Huawei P30 Pro, more than anything else though, is its use of quad cameras,” EE Times writes. “The new smartphone literally has four cameras. They include a main camera, plus cameras for wide-angle, Time-of-Flight and a periscope view. All four use Sony CMOS image sensors.”

Maybe Huawei pays more to Sony semiconductor than Sony mobile. :D

Sony make the best mobile phone camera sensor. So don't use Sony, no other choice. Not even Samsung come close.

But their mobile division keeps mucking up whatever sensors they get through poor software and lack of features like ois

Most often than not, internal politics kills the company.

So many phones using Sony camera sensors... so if one still wants to support Sony, one can buy those phones using Sony camera sensors. :s13:
