In all ways, this is NOT a get rich quick system.
It is very much a get reasonable returns slowly and boringly. (not even get rich slowly)
at the very most, for the ordinary folks, we will likely accumulate enuff for a stream of consistent dividends payout in 10-20 yrs time.

This is not for u if
1. u like to see exciting and volatile moves
2. u want to find the nxt googl, the nxt tsla, the nxt nflx
3. u want to super fast growers

why shud u sign up thru me?
no need to. if fact u can get yr own referral link and get yr frens to sign up too and get yr own freebies.

Seeking Income? Dividend Aristocrats Are King
By Robert Rapier

Investors seeking long-term dividend growth should become familiar with the S&P 500's Dividend Aristocrats.

By definition, a Dividend Aristocrat must be in the S&P 500 index and have recorded dividend increases for at least the past 25 consecutive years. A company must also meet certain market capitalization and liquidity requirements to appear on the list.

Why should investors care about this list? Dividend Aristocrats have historically outperformed the S&P 500. Over the past 10 years, the Dividend Aristocrats have earned 16.4% annually, versus 15.2% for the S&P 500. They have likewise outperformed the S&P 500 for the most recent one-year and five-year periods, but did lag the S&P 500 over the past three years.

There are two caveats I should mention on the Dividend Aristocrats. Even companies with a long track record of dividend increases can implode. General Electric (NYSE: GE) was on the list until 2010, and only came off after the share price had fallen more than 50% as a result of the financial crisis.

Second, you might expect that companies that have raised their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years would have attractive dividends. You would be wrong for the most part. Most of the companies on the list have yields that are pretty low for dividend investors.

Of the 57 companies on the current list, 43 yield less than 3%. The average yield for the entire list is 2.46%. But that's still a bit better than the S&P 500, which has seen its yield drop to 1.9%.

Thanks for sharing Mr Wood.

I would like to share some thoughts.

Investors based in Singapore would be exposed to FX risk when they invest. The expected div yield after adjusting for withholding tax and FX may not beat investing into Singapore Reits. It does offer some diversification benefits one needs to be comfortable holding on to USD which tends to weaken agst the SGD as MAS typically maintains an appreciating stance.

This ETF looks good. Maybe we wont get taxed for capital gains. :)

Above 8 % is high risk of dividend cut..look at centurylink.. Above 10% yield, shareprice drop more than 25% this year after dividend cut

THIS. Real issue for me.
I only look at dividend yield above 8%. For pure dividend play

US Dividend Aristocrat ETF listed in LSE only 15% WHT - UDVD. but I have doubts of the dividend aristocrat methodology.

My preferred dividend ETF which includes US stocks is WQDV. The spread is 0.01 while the spread for UK listed SPDR ETFs is usually a lot wider

30 % withholding tax !

very practical concerns.
withholding tax and fx risk.

but for US stocks, I can buy mainly like 10shares with low comms, so it makes some sense than the high comms with sg brokers. dis is my rational for diversify with smaller capital into US.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%26P_500_Dividend_Aristocrats

S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrat Sector Weightings as of March 31, 2019
Industrials - 23%,
Consumer Staples - 22%,
Financials - 12%,
Materials - 11%,
Consumer Discretionary - 11%,
Health Care - 10%,
Energy - 3%,
Technology - 2%,
Real Estate - 2%,
Utilities - 2%,
Telecommunications- 2%

Not much in new age tech stocks. This strategy is not for those who want 10baggers in short time.

For US stocks, I recommend going for growth stocks with little dividends.

Why should you enrich their government with DWT ?

Personally, I go for their sector ETFs. More diversified, high growth, low dividends and most importantly, I can lend out those shares in IB to boost my returns.

growth stocks forms part of but not majority of my portfolio. more volatile and requires consistent monitoring and keeping up with their earnings.

similar reason why i dun wan to enrich brokers and agents for doing nothing. :s13::s22:
