So I should change my krisflyer acc given name to AH KOW JOHN instead of just JOHN?

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

as mentioned, if JOHN TAH AH KOW is on your passport then just JOHN TAN shouldn't be a problem, but if you are worried about it then no harm changing
or you can just call into krisflyer membership services to get a definite answer from them

think it might be fixed based on my experience a few years ago - dunno for sure though. Might be better to call SQ to check - or go to the office in ION to talk to them

You can change dates. Note that the ticket expiry date is one year. So say you book for Jan 2020, ticket issued today 27 March 2019, you have to complete the trip by 26 March 2020.

Expiry of miles means you need to use the miles by the expiry date. This has nothing to do with the date of travel or ticket validity (one year from date of issue). Say your miles expire today 27 March, you have to issue the tickets using the miles by today. Ticket validity is one year from today. So you can change your travel date to any date within the one year expiry.

Change of destination is a different story. It requires the reissue of a new ticket. It's not just revalidation (change of date/flight).

Guys newbie question,

If I book a one way redemption and cancel, that needs a usd75 fee
If I book a return redemption and cancel, does that also get hit with a usd75 fee (or do I need to pay usd150 i.e. "one way ticket x 2")?

Just received my American Express Singapore Airlines Krisflyer card. I am given a Krisflyer membership number. Do I have to create a Krisflyer account from SIA website or AMEX will enrol for me?

Have about 36K miles to spend, any suggestions of what it's worth? Flights or Krisshop?

When is that? I usually prepare for my flights.

Usually released mid month, & for travel only within the next month

eg book from 18-30 June, for travel from 1-31 July

The same will likely repeat in July for Aug

Any city(ies) in mind? Some may never appear under this promo.

Also 36k is ... not little / a lot of miles.

An idea is to do 1 way (business class) redemption & then return via commercial ticket (Scoot/Jetstar, etc)

Miles required for 1 way Business Class (For consideration) -
18k - Bali
30k - HK
36.5k - Perth

Sounds like a good idea (I was thinking Japan). You are very helpful. Thank you for the suggestions.

please don't use it for krisshop, it's really a waste of your miles

Tempting due to the discount plus about $270 off an iPad Mini Cellular.

Miles earned due to company business travels so I see it as free money to spend. :s13:
