Wonder do you all talk to neighbour?

Currently, I felt lonely to myself since I don't have any family members.

I'm Singaporean and currently stay myself in own flat.

Any advice to communicate ?

Is like they see me like ghost...

Sg rat race is really crazy, till there is not much time, energy or motivation to socialise.
We all hv housing n car loans that will take a dual income lifetimes to clear, so a career is critical.
Then come the kids with their set of stress. Once kids are settled, need to focus on elderly parents issues.
Are there slower paced jobs that can clear the loans? Unlikely. So we end up socialising with colleagues and kids frens families or relatives.

If want to start conversation with neighbours, go over and give yr contact number, say if need any help with deliveries or emergencies can contact you.
Or go ask them abt any neighbourhood fb group that can discuss hw can improve the neighbourhood.

We are all trained condition politically or personally to listen to instruction and follow the rat race.
The stress level is high to survive in this country financially.

I think a simple smile and slow down before heading to the lift. Goes. Along way to show you are open to chat

It’s not iinnate in us to behave like the Americans and Europeans where small talk is a common thing.

Because neighbours are living too close to each other there is no personal space, even when you raise your voice abit they can hear. A small plant pot placed too near to their side will lead to quarrel , like what happened to my neighbours.

Distance will always bring harmony but too close will sure bring quarrels and unhappiness

Festive occasions can pass some cookies. Easy ice breaker...
"Wu wei" is best... :)

.. otherwise, if pass back and forth, it can also cause mutual uneasiness...

Of course being friendly is better than hostile... :)

The increasing high cost of living is also making graciousness hard to come by... :)

Technology seems to be the center of it. Want food, order in. Want entertainment, click in. The need for physical communication has diminished with everything being brought into your home. Let's all go internet free for one day. :s22:
