Whats a hi-beat?

err.

ok my knowledge on GS is half past 6... but i think to make it short...

GS basically uses 3 different movement for their watches and price varies accordingly.. 9S automatic > spring drive > hi-beat. hi-beat is the top range movement for grand seiko.

then there's the movement for normal range seikos like

4R > 6R > 8R.

8R is mostly found on those higher range seiko divers like mm300.

Oh wow! First time seeing this one and it got me looking up more pics n videos on this! Very nice lei... Wa gien

got u poisoned as well. :o

basically the current 2 hot GS models is this and the snowflake. snowflake reference is sbga211. many are comparing this 2 models side by side.

but to me i would prefer the hi-beat + gmt over the snowflake on spring drive, one thing abt GS is that spring drive power reserve is always displayed on the dial.

I am reading spring drive > 9S. They cost way more and tend to be in their LE model. Moreover cheapest spring drive starting price still higher than 9S by a good usd$1k+
