1) Having only a small quantity of standout youth graduates over the last 10 yrs does not mean the current crop coming through also lack quality. In 7 yrs of youth commentary this is by far the best I’ve seen...

2) The bad results of the U23s are almost irrelevant in this debate. It’s a level that’s hugely disrupted by players being loaned out & getting senior call-ups mid-season. There’s little chance to actually form a team. Plus top talents tend to jump quickly from U18s to seniors...

3) Senior leaders are essential to help youth talents fulfill potential. Ole is well aware of this & has openly said that’s what Utd need to find this summer. Maguire would be a superb role model.

4) Yes, the current squad is thin on leaders with quality (& such players are hard to come by), which is why it’s imperative to give a little extra support to youth; as well as signing 1 or 2 of these strong characters, & keep people like Young & Mata around to set an example...

5) Which is why our young talents weren’t given many minutes towards the end of last season. Ole will want to protect them by bringing them into a stable & supportive senior environment. That is smart long-term management. He will now create a foundation to allow them to thrive.



The current coaching staff at #MUFC are well aware of what is required to fulfill this 3-5 year plan. Money will be spent, but finding the right characters is paramount. Fans just need to be patient & supportive of the coach/players. Ole has the long-term success of Utd in mind.
