Hi,
I was offered a spot for part time diploma visual communications.
What should i be expecting for the 2.5 year duration course?
Will there be a lot of group work and presentations... and will it bw a problem if i am painfully introverted that throught my primary school and sec school life i barely made any friends?

Will this affect my results? If so i am thinking of turning down the offer

and which school are you going?

I don't really have any personal interest... I am enrolling for visual comms because my 'O' level score only eligible for interior design and visual comms and I chose visual comms. I will be going to Singapore Poly.

Yes, there will be project and presentation. You need to talk the person beside you so that you can make friends better than sitting alone at a quiet corner.

There is nothing do with your primary or secondary school hard to make friends. It is your chance to make new friends when you enter poly. Don't let the chance waste. jia you!!

How are you going to survive in life? What kind of job(s) do you think will allow you barely or no interaction with people?

Is it also true that part-time diploma cert has less recognition that full-time diploma?

Yes! Full time 6 semesters of 5 full days per week studies as compared to Part time 5 semesters of 3 nights per week studies.... just count the number of contact hours, you will notice it has been slashed drastically....

Full time is meant for academic purpose for those aiming for further studies while part time is a CET certificate, meant for higher nitec people to upgrade and maybe a chance for further studies

So how can the two be the same?

PT diploma is 5 semesters! and its catered to working adults, no internship at all, as working adults do not need that. PT students also need to do assignments, projects, presentation, tests and exam!

you are wrong! not only meant for higher nitec ppl to upgrade it is for working adults too.. and if for those want to have mid career switch, it is good to take up dip course with poly. dun give wrong info lah:s22::s22:

that does not mean PT is inferior course... it is very comprehensive compared to pte dip course

Please read carefully on what I have written as the person is asking about whether the recognition is same for part time as compared to full time...

And when did I ever say it is inferior...

And people who do mid career switch generally opt for (if they have only a poly diploma otherwise there are educational or training options)

1. Diploma(conversion) of 1 year
2. Specialist Diploma of 1 year
3. Advanced Diploma of 1.5yrs (sometimes 2)

And please open your eyes big when you look at the polytechnics info for their part time diplomas, Higher nitec are their main targets.... not every mid career has the time to go for a 2.5 years programs as they have bills to pay and family to feed.... please do not ask a retrenched 10k per month manager to work part time at mcdonald while taking the part time cet diploma... otherwise, there will not be any PCP programs of usually 1 year or less for mid career people....
