most are using universal 110-240 power adaptor.

the only 'problem' is 2-pin us plug.

but don't assume, check the wordings on the adaptor before plugging in.

2 pin us plug still can be used if it is 100-240v

Well after much deliberation, ended up ordering Tanix (original) they are on sale: https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_009514730624.html?wid=1433363

Did you order the tx6?
This is not a s905x2 cpu, i think it's a all-winner cpu, no good, temperature can hit 90degrees. Advise to cancel order. It is a cheap tv box.
You should order tanix tx5 max
Now i saw 3 types of tx5 = tx5 max, tx5 max plus and tx5 pro. Same cpu but different ddr ram(3 or 4) and ethernet speed(100M or 1000M), one of them no external antenna

You are right to say not to buy Tanix TX6, even the original version with Tanix logo has thermal issues.

As for TX5 Max, Gearbest the original version 4GB/32GB here.

TX5 Pro is an old model using S905X CPU and not S905X2 CPU.

I believe there is no TX5 Max Plus for Tanix original version with Tanix logo.

These are offered in Shopee I guess?

But be careful whether they really sell the original version with Tanix Logo or just using the picture of the original version but actually sell OEM version with Tanix logo. Better double confirm with the seller. And make sure the model name and the hardware configurations are really correct or not.

No, i screenshot from AliExpress.
I think the pro and plus are created by tanix as new models. One with antenna and one without. The plus is more expensive with antenna.

The problem with buying Tanix TX5 Max box in Singapore is that you will normally get the OEM version without Tanix logo. It is probably the same for other Tanix boxes. The quality varies. There are reports of short life span in Hardware Zone forum.

I think the new official TX5 Pro is a cut down version of TX5 Max, with 100M Ethernet and without Antenna. Official TX5 Max has gigabit Ethernet and antenna. There is no official TX5 Plus as far as I know.

The old TX5 Pro box is using S905X CPU.

From AliExpress, only tx5 plus has the tanix logo, oem are selling tx5 max without tanix logo.
Maybe tanix wanted to differentiate from oem by adding a plus now. It comes with attenna at the rear. But i think it has the same specs as tx5 max with better quality parts.

Is the Tanix TX5 Max sold on Lazada also an OEM version? As it doesn't have the Tanix logo on top, but it has a TX5 Max logo, which I don't see in the official box in the Gearbest store, which has a Tanix logo.

Correct, it is an OEM version if there is no Tanix logo. As far as I know stocks from Lazada, Shopee and Qoo10, and even Taobao, are OEM version.

The only place I know where you are sure to get official Tanix version is Gearbest.

Thanks! I did check AilExpress website but there are so many sellers and the price range vary very widely. Some are obviously "Robert" price. Not sure which one is original. Can any kind soul help me to point me the link?

If you want tx5 max, try to look for those tv box with Tanix printed on top, supposed to be better than tx5 printed on top by oem manufacturer.
