Hi Audiophiles, I do not have the budget for a high end surround sound speaker, but I would ideally like a decent 2.1 TV speaker better than the standard soundbar.

Can anyone recommend me any brands? Thank you.

Hmm. Brand new tough.. 2nd hand can try
Audioengine A5+ for S$380 https://sg.carousell.com/p/240354678
KenWood SW-301 Subwoofer for S$100 https://sg.carousell.com/p/242770916

Basically, powered L+R speakers with at least 5 inch woofers and RCA outputs, and a active subwoofer with RCA inputs and ability to adjust crossovers (since the RCA sends full range audio but the sub can only play bass freq)

Edit: Get the subwoofer from marcoin's post.. New and not much more expensive $199

If you don’t mind used can get this amp. Powerful with great feature and sound. Add speakers to it and change your way of watching movies.

Totally agree. That’s why I recommend him that receiver, $199 plus a decent speakers should be within his budget.
