You need to know what is the specs of the LAN port. Like Pokemon mentioned, it is possibly a 100Mbps LAN port. Having said that, you really don't need a Gigabit LAN on a TV in most cases since it is generally used for streaming. Even at the speed that you get, you can stream 4K contents smoothly.

Thks for sharing. Checked on the router and found MI tv is limited at 100Mbps.

MiTV 4S 43" TV as monitor

Hi everyone

Would like to hear the opinions from anyone who has tried using XiaoMi TV as a monitor for office productivity work.

I'm tinkering with the thoughts of purchasing the Xiaomi 4S 43" for office productivity work, will be driving it with my AMD 2400G built-in graphics.

Are there any things that I would need to take note of?

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Normally, there should not be any delay. I used a cheapo JY A9 soundbar ordered from Taobao, it played without any audio lag using bluetooth.. this is when I am playing youtube or video from TV broadcast..

It is not uncommon to have audio delay when the TVs do not have the required audio decoders or when there are wrong settings; this happened also in SONY, Samsung or LG brands

https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/articles/00026069

May be you should do some troubleshooting to find the causes of the audio delay..It might not be due to defective components or design.. trying searching solutions by googling using the following wordings "bluetooth audio lag sound bar in TV".

How is the JY brand soundbar? Looking at it also

It will depend on what you are using the TV for.. if for text display and word prcessing, it is ok but if you want to use it for gaming with refresh rate above 100 Hz, you might experience some lagging.. Xiaomi TV has a response time around 6 ms and is quite good for gaming below 60 Hz

https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model-response-time/bee4ac1

Xiaomi TV are of TN panel type, its color rendering will not be as good as those monitors that use IPS or VA panels..

If you are looking for a reasonable sound system with economical pricing, JY can do the work,, the bluetooth and SPDIF connection worked well with Xiaomi TV if one is playing those video broadcast or Netflix.. however, it will give better bass if one can use active rather than passive subwoofers..here is some comment in Lazada for the same unit except it is packaged as Karaoke unit...

Just an additional note, JY9 is actually a stereo set with a 5.1 synthesizing sound surround or aka fake sound surround system or DSP. Some claimed that DSP worked even better than true sound surround or Dolby sound for music playing.

Have a problem with Toggle SG app on my MiTV 4S and Mi Box S.

Tried installing the app on both TV and Mi Box S. Able to see the purple Toggle words during startup, but screen turns black after that.

Tried to cast Toggle from my Android phone to the TV /Mi Box S. Can play on phone but TV screen can't see anything.

During installation, there is a warning saying the app needs to have Google Play services in order to work.

Am I missing something?

First, xiaomi 43" is not a 4K TV. The popular version is 4A although there are also 4c, 4S, 4x and the new E or full screen version. All of the them are having the same technical specification except for the frames or bezel which can be plastic or metal like etc. E series is the full screen with no bezel.

If you want to watch youtube and netflix with TV only, you must use modded version of youtube or netflix as MiTV does not have google services. As 43" does not play 4K, there is no need to have Mibox S.

1st check if you there is any dark image on the screen using a torch light shinning at a slant angle. If no, it could be a faulty LED screen or mainboard or power supply or if you are lucky, a faulty OS that caused by a glitch during OS updating.. if the last one, just do a factory reset..

I understand most 43" in 4 series isn't 4k but 4s 43" was advertise as 4k or you mean the output can't be 4k?

Understand MiTV and MIBox did not pay for the license to use Toggle. The only way is to buy a google chromecast. You can try to use the chromecast built in with Mibox S but understand this is not a full google chromecast. Not sure other screen mirroring will work such as airscreen, airplay or airpower will work..

Thanks bro Pcuser, seems like could be:
-> Suspect PSB has problem supplying power for the backlights. Most likely the LED backlights are faulty.

My wife says that sound is still heard even after black screen appears when she was watching show. She seems to hear an accompanying pop sound too.

Have contacted Smart Tech to see how much it might cost me to repair. Hopefully can salvage this 1.5 yrs old TV. :s47:

Can see there are some backlight working as a black screen would be totally black and one cannot see much light. If there is sound, could mean the main board is still working. In that case, it might be the PSB or the display logic board (located inside the LED panel) that is faulty. Let us know what Smart Tech found.

Smart Tech’s CS replied after checking with China that it will cost around $800 to ship in a panel + repair cost.

Looks like I most likely have to say goodbye to it.
