Is there any good comfortable glue-on nose pad for plastic frame to recommend?

My current pasted silicon pad on Moscot frame is too rubbery feel.

I also hear say from the optical shop selling them. I owned the older bottle rocket which is damn solid but I sweat a lot, so metal frames a bit out for me. So, looking to use back Rudy Project, looking at Fotonyk which is whole thing plastic, no rubber no metal for my sweat to corrode.

Am currently using Rudy Project Impulse with RX Direct. Very very very solid except the rubber and metal parts where it cant take my sweat. lol.

My bottlerock still can get slight bend but this Impulse like totally nothing at all...

It will drop but no issue as they're ways to work around. Drilling into frame is not an option for me that's why I'm looking for a good quality paste-on pads but just couldn't find.

Oakley nosepads replacement cost 15 dollars unless you are out of the 2 year warranty period.

If not, you probably have to go order from your place of purchase or to Oakley service center at Millenia towers.

Currently, I'm wearing Ray-Ban RB 8611 full rim prescription frame.

Any recommendation for prescription frame of similar weight?

Criterias for my lens:

1. After prolong period wearing of contact lens, I seems to have minor ptosis or lazy eyes. I'm not sure which is mine (would be good if someone can recommend who i should approach)
Looking for a lens that won't strain my eyes.

2. Blue light filter. Long hours working infront of electronic device.

3. Would be good to have UV filter that won't darken (don't want transition lens).

Would be good if u have estimation on the price of the lens

Your own shop shouldn’t charge(depends), other places likely will charge for you. Depending on which Oakley model you using, certain push in nosepad(not screw), is of different size. Take note of that!

Hi All, I have depth perception issue after I got my new pair of spectacles yesterday.

The optician explain that it is normal as the new spectacles now has astigmatism correction (0.25) but my old pair doesn't. The new spectacles also has a different frame shape and bigger lens size than my old spectacles which will affect my perception as well. He ask me to give my eyes some time to adjust and if this symptom still persist, he may need to remove astigmatism correction. So I went back home and today is the 2nd day, the situation is still the same. I also felt slight eye strain/headaches.

I would like to ask for opinions here on my situation. Should I wait it out for 2-3days first? Or I should go to another optical shop for a second check/opinion? Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

All shops can do. Even Owndays also u can bring other frames and they will do it for u.

But for just doing the lens, some shops charge slightly more for the lens compared to if u buy both frame plus lens. Some shops call this edging fee.

If you want those branded or specialised lenses, better bring to a reputable shop.

Forget any owndays lens. The quality is not there.

Theres barrel distortion and internal reflection.

Hi bro,

There's quite a range of glasses with similar weight as your current pair, or even lighter.

As for strain with contact lenses usage, do you experience double image after long time usage of near/computer work & it slowly reverts back to clear after resting your eyes a while?

For blue light filter, i would recommend Blue absorb lenses such as Tokai Lutina/Asahi Lite UV3G. These lenses comes with full UV400 protection + up to 94% UV420 protection. More protection compared to most other lenses.

I've come up with some drawings to let more bros better understand what is UV/ Blue Reflect/ Blue Absorb

Light Spectrum (Left side of chart being most harmful to humans):

Blue Reflect lenses block up to 30% across whole blue spectrum (~400-500nm)

Blue Absorb lenses block up to 94% of the high energy waves(up to 420nm), while letting the rest of beneficial blue light in.(~420-500nm)

disclaimer: straight lines are drawn to make it easier for me to draw :X Actual lines are not as straight as what is illustrated:s13:

Hi bro,

New glasses needs at most 1 day to get use to it (Less than -0.50Ds difference from old specs). Add another day or 2 for every -0.50Ds difference. Whats your difference between new and old specs?

Btw, most people cant take astigmatism correction, even if its -0.25Ds. If your issue persist, probably good to drop by the shop again for another check.:s13:

Hi Bro,

The degree is exactly the same as my old specs except for addition of -0.25 astigmatism for both eyes.

When I got into the optical shop, they use a machine to measure my degree first (I can see a lighthouse inside). Then the machine measure my degrees to be L: -2.00 R: -1.75 with -0.5 astigmatism for both eyes. My old specs degree is L: -2.25 R: -1.75 no astigmatism.

So I went into the room with letters and they let me try on with L: -2.25, R: -1.75 with -0.5 astigmatism but my vision was not clear. It was when they reduce the astigmatism to -0.25 then my vision is clear. This process was done quite fast so I am also concern if there's any lapse. So thinking of getting my eyes check again in another optical shop. Any recommendations for reliable shops near to outrum or hougang?

Couple of things that could make a difference even if the degree is the same.
  • Front curve of lens
  • Index of lens
  • Material of lens
  • Bow curve of frame
  • Pantoscopic tilt of frame

If you wish to get a 2nd opinion, good to bring both specs along (New & old)

Looking for a metal or titanium frame, going for simple design like my old pair. Any value for money recommendations?

My degree should be around 275, for the lens u recommended how much will it be?

Will have whitish blurry image after wearing for extended period, either need to look at far away or rub the eyes. Sometimes is due to the eyes getting too dry, as the air con is blowing at my direction .

Btw, which outlet are u at?
